Had it not for XLX quick thinking, her reputation as a woman would have been ruined. The first thing the guy said to her was not gosh are you ok XLX or I hope this did not create any confusion but instead he was talking about his freaking reputation first? Hello, I’m sorry in the old days women’s reputation is quite important for them to have some kind of normal social status. Nope the guy is more worried about his reputation to achieving his scholar status.

I cried my eyes out in episode 31. Lu Jier is such a good actress & really love the relationship, care between XLX, Jier & other maids.

Ep 32: I can’t believe that the second madam Lin had the audacity to brush the eldest Lin daughter’s domestic violence issues off just so she can marry her son & find a match for her daughter? She was beaten up by her husband & LJQ helped her by beating the crap out of his uncle & now said to her niece to get on with it? The woman has not suffered half of what the first Lin daughter had to go through from her husband. Luckily, LJQ, XLX & all the Lin siblings are supportive of her.

I know it is hard to get a divorce in the ancient time but still it so heartbreaking for women to have to suffer such ordeal. I understand from the Chinese fans that in order for her divorce to be approved, she will have to accept receiving 100 flogs & LJQ has agreed in place.

Correction: it was LJQ who beat the crap out of his father not the uncle. No wonder father and son don’t get along.

Same, I can’t wait for that but my guess is when LJQ brings her to the Shen burial ground, she will be devastated & he will start connecting all the dots.

What I don’t like about this Han guy is when he urged his mum to ask XLX adoptive parents for marriage, his mum said well we need to save up for the wedding proposal & he then said oh well XLX is not fussed about the dowry. Bruh, even that was true, you have to think about saving up for the rainy days as a couple. I may upset his fans here but he may be the type of guy that will drop XLX the minute he gets the power.

Agreed. Hence, his marriage decree to XLX is not only his feelings for XJX but also a way for him to not scare the new emperor given that XLX was a former servant of the Lin’s family. The Emperor usually gets wary of his subjects forming strong alliances in court through marriages.

Poor XLX, she’s in turmoil inside & she can’t talk to anyone about her past. I don’t see any feelings from her for the scholar Han guy. I don’t know why but I have the bad feeling about this guy.

With ZXT reappearance as Mrs Dai, the next few episodes will be exciting and things are about to get really dangerous for LJQ & XLX.

I understand from Chinese fans that Prince Han ( the guy who gave a dirty look at LJQ when he brought the crown prince back to the capital before the death of the old emperor) & his forces including the Zhao family are watching LJQ waiting for an opportunity to bring him down.

Prince Han will rebel to take over the throne from the new emperor & when he lost the Zhao fled & stole ZXT monies & had evidence to prove that LJQ helped the deposed crown prince escape. The Zhao were killed by the bandits on their escape but ZXT managed to recover the evidence while fleeing.

Unfortunately, ZXT was also attacked by the bandits and she was saved by XLX but later on died from serious injuries. Before her last moment, she gave the evidence to XLX as collateral against LJQ.

Meanwhile, LJQ was injured & overheard both ladies conversation & didn’t expect XLX’s decision to burn the evidences that could wipe out the Lin’s family (reminder of her Shen family’s painful fate). That was the turning point in their relationship with LJQ later on taking her to the Shen’s burial ground & telling her about how things unfolded back then

Ep 29: after having begged XLX to join him in the capital has resorted to drugging her but before doing so LJQ should have listened the XLX first as she was about to tell him that she will join him in the capital. XLX’s goal was to look for Lu Jier & free her as she has promised. I really love the last scene with grandpa Lin at the end where he kind of accepts the transfer of power to the younger generation LJQ but at the same time gave a a strong warning to remain restrained & not undermining the new emperor’s authority which could lead to the downfall of the Lin Family.
Ep 30: wow, everything comes into full circle when the LJQ announced to XLX about their new residence given by the emperor. It happens to be the Shen’s old residence, say what script writer.? My heart breaks for XLX who is crying her eyes out as all good and bad memories from her Shen family come back. I so enjoyed the moment when he suggested to XLX to use the imperial power to force ZXT to free Jier & her maid. XLX just told him that he used the marriage decree to force her I marrying him without her consent as she would not want to use the same method with ZXT.
Her confrontation with LJQ & a slap on LJQ was satisfying as she just reminded him of what he did & she has other way to deal with ZXT. He actually doesn't think he did anything wrong at all. He thought that he gave Lanxiang a huge honor, and XLX was acting this way just because she still has feelings for Han Liang? The look in his eyes here determined & could not get it. Luckily, XLX wasn’t born yesterday &stood her ground. The issue was he never thought about whether Lanxiang was willing or what she actually thought. He wasn’t aware of how painful it was to use his power put on her family.

Poor XLX, no one is aware of her pain to return to her old Shen family home.

XLX showdown with all the official biatches was also very satisfying.
These 2 episodes really show how smart both LJQ & XLX are, especially XLX & no wonder her dad was saying that the Lin family is really luck to have an intelligent daughter in-law as XLX.

Yes. XLX, SML were sobbing 😭, so sad. Xu papa & mama are upset. The whole Lin elders clan were pissed off because LJQ dared ask the emperor for the marriage decree with a maid without their consent. They think that her low status will tarnish their family name & will make them a laughing stock of the county. Grandpa Lin decided to punish LJQ by flogging him but the siblings seem to be supportive of big brother move. The Third Lin sister saved the day by making a surprise visit to the Lin’s house so the flogging seems to have stopped. LJQ has ruined everyone’s mood but the man doesn’t give a flying F as long as he gets the woman he loves LOL. I feel so bad for XLX who wants to be free but LJQ drags her back to Lin’s household hallelujah.

Ikr, I was hoping for Marquis Yuan & the third Lin sister to have a happy ending.

I fear this is true and the person who will kill him is the Du sister who escaped & become the head of the outlaws. I saw videos of him seriously injured. His wife, the third Lin sister will avenge his death later on.

I love reading this comment from a Chinese fan on how Mr Lu knows the real identity of XLX. I understand from other Chinese fans that her grandfather Shen was his master & Mr Lu was the chosen scholar by the deposed emperor. Here is the comment:

I may also add that XLX has helped the Lin’s family overcome so many issues ( forced marriage with the Du girl, pandemic). A part from LJQ, the other members of the Lin’s family are powerless & not much of a help to him to manage the Lin’s estate should his mother get sick or die. For his future sake, XLX is the best candidate to be his wife.

He will be killed by the Du sister & the third Lin sister will kill her to avenge her husband.

The scene where Jier helped XLX get out & both cried breaks my heart.

The suspicious look of grandpa Lin when LJQ announced to the family that he will be transferred to the capital by the emperor in the trailer of episode 28 LMAOOO. I’m sorry but papa Lin looks like an idiot as compared to grandpa Lin.

That’s a good point that the Zhao is favoured by the emperor. I understand from the Chinese fans that Marquis Yuan is from the deposed crown prince faction. LJQ will help the deposed crown prince escape which ZXT later has evidence against LJQ about helping the crown prince. Before ZXT died she gave the evidence to XLX as leverage should XLX need to use against LJQ but XLX burnt the documents & LJQ saw it.
