But later we got to know that the prefect of the town He Jingyuan, was an old acquaintance of FL's parents, and while they died, He jingyuan sent the evidence back to Wei Yan pleading him to not kill the sisters, to which he agrees.

Now going to jail is a different subplot. Wei Yan's son Wei Xuan is given orders to bring grain from the town, he needs to collect it. But common people do not have so much grain. He Jingyuan being a good prefect, refuses to force people. Hence Wei Xuan puts him to jail, and decides to take the grain forcefully. The grain is required because army provisions are getting lesser. But Wei Xuan is not the person to kill people for that, like in today's episode, there was a scene where a lot of people were killed, it was done by Prince Changxin and the Sui family. They want to create chaos in the country so that people think that Royal palace can kill people to achieve their goals, hence forcing common people to revolt.
Prince Changxin was the cousin of the previous emperor or something, like royal blood related, but not very close as such, they power or the throne. Sui Yuanqing is his son. They have planned the entire thing and on their saying Qi Min had bought the large quantity of grains from people and hid it. Qi Min is Prince Changxin's elder son, but again that's a false identity, but Prince Changxin or the Sui family doesn't know that. That is why Qi Min has done a deal with ML to give him the grains if ML supports him in his plans.

2. FL's father was bought as a servant to the Wei Family that is ML's mother's natal home. FL's father then got trained as an assassin and joined army under ML's father. FL's mother is the daughter of General Meng Shuyuan who also served under ML's father. FL's father and grandfather were blamed for delaying additional troops to the battle due to which the previous crown prince and ML's father died.

3. That's pretty late, maybe the last 2-3 episodes. They have to get married again for that. But they would be together, as in a relationship before that.

Rewatching few scenes, and I just realized, what perfect genes Wei family has! ML's uncle, ML's mom, ML!! I mean, everyone is so pretty.

Its so weird that people are not liking the romcom era. I mean they do not what they will miss later on! This is the happy era. I am so glad that they decided to keep all of the village phase, even added some more. We got to see them falling in love.
About 100 chapters in 23 episodes, yes it can be a bit rushed, but I have no problem if they decide to cut few war scenes and palace politics, except the important ones. I mean this is romance based before anything else.

Please keep it as long as you can. Duke Su is the best, like even after 2 years, I am unable to move on from that drama and especially from him, neither do I want to.
Like I need to always rewatch some of his scenes every month, to maintain my sanity, lol!
