I think the drama followed the history period of China very well. So epidemic from the time line point of view had to be introduced in the show. I did not felt that episode rushed beacuse I did not wished to see more of it. It reminded me of the terrible covid so I was happy they did not prolonged it 😅

Did you watched The Youth memories?Even if is not your genre (mine too) I recommend to watch it. Best drama I seen this year. It will give you a view of the immense acting potential XZ has in other plays beside costume dramas. In my opinion his best acting role from all up to now was in TYM
