However, there are private calls from certain higher up officers to tell Mr. Li to not bring up his case. And several state media jumped quickly in to condemn him when all the rumors made it big on social media. Now, they would have to admit their negligence if they are to say all those were just rumors.

It is not. Kris Wu was convicted, went thru the court and everything. That is why what happened to Zhehan is beyond any comprehension. His team still appeals and checks up on his case on a regular basis. His music management company has made announcement about that before. But the antis, bought marketing accounts are still at work to cause more complications, bully his supporters, report anyone who raised their support for him on Weibo. The force behind that supports his competitors is very strong, and complicated.
