Does it get more interesting after ep 1? I'm struggling to watch more.
It is a slow moving story, but I think the story is touching. It explores dark feelings that I won't state explicitly because spoilers. ..And don't you wanna know where the angel came from? Lol. In my opinion the story is very expansive. Worth it for me. But if you don't like Japanese slow-paced stuff, skip it.
Learning why the angel killed himself.. Wow. I feel so bad for everyone involved as the kids are so young. When our emotions are too intense, it's easy to express them in twisted ways. I'm guilty of this too.
I felt the way their friends acted upsetting while too close to the real world. When one friend bullies the other, we turn our backs on the friend being bullied especially if the bully is our "favorite friend." Whenever rumors float around, we turn our backs on those everyone think is guilty. Partially because we believe it and partially because we don't want to be outcasts. I find this way of acting so disgusting, and it's why I was a total loner in high school. I hated the social aspect of high school, but I would probably choose to be a loner if I had to do it again.
Being a teenager is so hard. All of our emotions feel like do or die. The bully's personality is completely outward. He projects everything he feels on other people. The angel keeps all of his feelings inwards. You can see at the beginning of the episode it was foreshadowing when the angel said their personalities wouldn't get along. Honestly, when these two get older and can work on themselves, good communication solves everything. But angsty teenagers feeling the pressure of the world.. yeah, it is so easy for this to go wrong!!
The angel really didn't deserve that treatment. He has a sensitive personality, and he needs to be treated with care, compassion, etc. The bully loved him for sure, but he failed tremendously. I feel so bad when I see two people who could be happy together but it turns out like this...
Very beautiful episode. I loved it. I love shows that touch on suicide because suicide and suicidal thoughts are very prominent problems in today's world. I think 1/2 of the population of the developed world at least wants to all kill themselves.. God help us all as life is suffering. In order to get through all this, we rely on other people and hurt people. It is very hard to live a life where we help more than hurt people... I could go on forever at this topic.
This remains to me one of my favorite pieces of work of any genre to come out of any country ever. I just love this show to bits and pieces. It is a light in my life.
I am loving this. I am sincerly interested in every dialogue and every character. I feel that it's a well-made…
To add on, it seems a lot of people are not liking this show. But the romance dynamics so far are giving me Not Me. And the plot and storyline gives me Water Boyy. And I love Water Boyy!! I love team dynamics with different personalities. One of the selling points for shows like this is focusing the majority of the show on non-romance aspects. Afterall, this is a volleyball show!! That way the world feels real, and we feel the pressure on the main characters to perform well as a team.
The world-building has been done well so far. I can distinguish all of the main characters (9 or so) from each other very well because their personalities have been clearly outlined. I feel like I am on the team myself!! That is the charm of these shows! It is so lovely that this show emotionally takes me back to when I watched Water Boyy years ago. It is a great comfort to me!!
I am loving this. I am sincerly interested in every dialogue and every character. I feel that it's a well-made world with nice story-telling!! But I had to turn the preview for Next Episode off. They are spoiling the entire episode themselves. Lmao. First is beautiful to look at, but I think my favorite character is definitely Sam. He is so sweet, cute, and polite.
This is way too long. Do yourself a favor and close back the spoiler tab.
This show is crazy. It causes me confusion and stress. Who is the shadow? It seems like it's Dan's dad then Trin.. but this can't be as they were both alive at some point when Dan saw the shadow. What's up with other ghosts appearing in Dan's hallucinations?
It seems like based off the previews that Dan will start to see all ghosts like Nai, and more people are going to die. It is still very unclear if Anan and the teacher killed Trin or they just were involved.. I am confused at the Shadow and ghost's involvement in this. Honestly, a lot of these same plotlines could have been played out without the ghosts. The ghosts and shadow are just a source of confusion (for right now).
The most interesting part of this series is when Dan confuses reality and whatever those hallucinations are.. Every single time it has fooled me as well.. The scene seems to be so normal then.. it gets twisted. But it's just enough/not enough to trick me.. I don't know...
I think the casting is great. Singto and Fluke play these roles well. But why is LazyLoxy playing such an evil character 😭😭😭 He sings so many songs in so many shows. This is my first time seeing him play as an actor, and he is talented.. but why use his handsome face for this evil character?! I dunno.. now if I ever see a music video of him, I will always think of Anan....
Also, the priest is so weird. I cannot get his motive. He seems to know what happened to Trin but is trying to keep things covered. Just a "God" angle does not pan out. What does he think Dan is seeing? Trin as well had a "mental disorder." I cannot figure out an ulterior motive that the priest would have besides converting everyone to catholicism.. What is his goal?!
Ultimately after 7 episodes, few questions have been answered. We know how Dan's mom died. We know when he started seeing the shadow, and how the priest got involved in his life... After this, more and more questions have been posed. I feel especially that Nai should be explored more as a ghost-seeing person.
Sometimes when the shadow is above Dan, it seems sexual.. or it seems like the shadow is trying to possess him. I am confused to why it hovers so close to his body. Does it want to enter him? In the infirmary scene in episode 7, Nai did see the shadow over Dan like that, right? Their relationship is so weird because Nai sees the shadow, yet Nai and Dan never have candid conversations about it. They act like it didn't happen...
Want to add that I like Cha'aim. Her personality is cut and dry, confident while simultaneously being sweet and humble. She is a nice addition to the plot. On the other hand, Master Joe as a character confuses me. Just why? I feel like he is important for Trin's story, but as the drama teacher.. he's such a nothing character. Does he know anything about what's really going on? It's so unclear. I find it hard to believe he knows nothing. If that's really the case, he's in for a rude awakening...
I enoyed it, but this ended too abruptly for me. I don't like how complex of characters these two seem yet the finale ended on such a simple note. It really feels like something is missing for me. It needed a couple more episodes or do a season two.
No one can convince me this isn't a perfect couple. The chemistry and acting ability of the actors was important, but most of all, I think this was a great script! It was well balanced with light-heartedness, comedy, and serious moments. To me, P'Yang is a perfect man, and I wish gay marriage was legal in Thailand so they can get married forreal.
I really think more BLs should end in marriage. But only the more mature ones ofc. No marriage for college and high school students!! Lmao.
This is one of those shows that I started watching with no expectations and ended up loving it. I have no idea why, but this show hits the spot for me. I can't wait for the more angsty episode. In my opinion, when done right and not dragged out too long, the angsty part of the series has potential to be the best part. So other ppl dreading the next episode, I'm looking forward to it. Lmao.
I feel privileged to have had this show to comfort me every week for the past weeks! Much love to staffs and all those involved!!!
As a straight girl & BL fan, I didn't know if I could enjoy a GL series, but I actually liked this a lot!! Some people said the plot sucked or was cheesy, but in my opinion, this is pretty on par with your average non-GMMTV BL. Even some GMMTV BL's like Star In My Mind or My Gear and Your Gown could be argued have worse plots/writing/story-progression than this.
It started slow, but it really picked up by episode 4-5. Plus I enjoy the change of pace with a majority female cast. And people saying this is made for male gaze and etcetera, aren't majority of GL watchers girls anyways? Why in the world would a GL be made for a male gaze?
