I knew this show would be nothing like the book, but only the names sparked my memory.

what is up with this trend of not going through with rebirths? I can understand not using a transmigration, but this story has like 3 versions of one life - it’s damn near the authors MO - why not make use of them?!!!

Was this finished shooting? I heard one of the actors died.

I thought it was pretty okay, it's realtively faithful to the original story with some understandable changes. I would recommend reading the book AFTER watching the show. The show itself doesn't commit to it's own story changes, so the instances where the script fails can best be explained by the book.

I had hoped that this would be a comedy. Kinda sad that it wasn't.

Not me coming to ask a question about the plot, only to find out this hasn't aired yet. I thought this came out around the same time as Legend of Shen Li.

If you get the chance, I would recommend the novel this show was adapted from. While the show made a couple of good choices in how it adapted the story, it really pales in comparison to the novel IMO simply because of the reasoning for why the characters did what they did.

All that aside, I am enjoying the show.
