I get the ML is afflicted with some sort of mysterious disease. can someone elaborate on that? deciding whether to watch but I generally dislike illness/disease plot lines… spoil away too, I’m fine with spoilers! thanks!
That ending with the dad.. that's some real shit right there.
Can you elaborate? I'm considering this one but the darker tone and now questionable ending has we wavering. I'm all about spoilers, so spoil away please!
Me too, but this one is didn’t annoy me much. Def no 2ML syndrome for me and an element of reluctant bromance between the two guys. Give it a try! you’ll fall in love with PHS!
Highly recommend the Viki sub for US viewers. I’m also in the US and while Netflix has come, the majority of the shows I watch are in Viki - including this one, which is one of my favorites! honestly worth the $6/month sub price ;-)
Full credit to the star power of Park Hyung Sik.... I really don't like anything horror/zombie/gore/jump scare…
Because I thought the whole plot line surrounding Andrew was a little silly... like, what are the odds of not one but TWO run of the mill killers living in the same apartment building... yikes. I think they could have built drama at the end with a different storyline, but it definitely wasn't so bad that it ruined the show. I'm also taking off .5 because I thought they could have built up the romance throughout the show a bit more... that really would have **chefs kiss** the whole thing... some glances, some light touches, more hugs - there was a bit of that, but I wanted more... more to build the romantic tension so that you really felt it when you finally got that kiss. I also would have loved a second kiss in that final scene when everyone was healthy and happy. Kinda bummed that the only kiss we got was wrapped up in zombie stuff.
Full credit to the star power of Park Hyung Sik.... I really don't like anything horror/zombie/gore/jump scare - just not my cup of tea, at all. But I love PSH so I gave this a try solely for him, and ya know, I'm glad I did. Sure the gore was there, but honestly it was well done and not over the top. It was never "gore, just to be gross and shocking", and I appreciated that. PSH knocked it out of the park with his character, which, I fully expected - he never disappoints! But an unexpected gem for me was the FL. I absolutely loved her. She was so badass, but believably so, and stayed true to who she was through the entire series. I can see why ML harbored feelings for her all those years ;-) I'm half in love myself lol. This show is worth watching just for the two main leads alone - they really were terrific!
Overall score: 8.5/10. I want to give this a 10 (because PSH lol) but I've got to take off .5 off the bat for the zombie theme, and then another full point because I thought the whole plot line surrounding... SEE REPLY COMMENT - I'm marking the rest as spoilers.
And yes I know all that equals 2 full points, but I'm adding back in .5 just because I enjoyed PHS so much. Turns out I'll watch anything he's in... even zombies ;-)
I dropped this after 2 episodes a while back and recently started it over again - and I'm so glad I did! It's just adorable... there were a few episodes in the middle there that dragged a bit, but once the main couple finally came clean with each other it was just giddy and feel good! Overall this was just a happy and heartwarming love story with many super cute couples and no annoying "breaking up just for drama" subplots. Will rewatch when I'm looking for something light and fun :-)
I enjoyed this drama right until the last episode... felt the side plot with FL's mom was completely unnecessary. Why do the writers think someone has to get sick to up the dramatic factor? It detracts from the original story and ruins things. I had a heads up on this plot line so I knew to skip most of episode 16, which was a shame. I won't be rewatching this now because of that subplot.
I wish I could give this drama 30/10. I've watched many dramas at this point and this immediately jumped to one of my all time favorites. It was charming, heart-warming, sweet, funny, sincere, and showcased a healthy relationship between two adults to make rational and smart decisions. None of this "I'm breaking up with you because I love you so much nonsense" or unnecessary twists that make you want to pull your hair out. Just two adults who trust and respect each other and communicate well. It was just so REFHRESHING! I'll be re-watching this anytime I need a lovely pick me up.
I enjoyed this show way more than I thought I would and got so engrossed in it that I binged it in just a few days - feel intense now! Came here mainly for PHS but also PSJ and neither disappointed. PHS though... that face and his talent. Gives me all the feels every time! Wish the focus had been more on their bromance and less on a triangle romance. Both those boys deserved love and I wish they'd both found someone worthy of them (not sure FL really is). Will rewatch down the road and focus on the Hwarang and PHS/PSJ scenes :-)
Anyone know where to stream this? It’s not on Netflix, Tubi, Prime, or Viki! Honestly happy to just buy it at this point but I can’t find that option either!
Anyone know where to watch this with the original Korean audio? Disney+ is dubbed in English, and that just kinda ruins it lol. I want the Korean version with English subtitles!
