Just finished watching and I have to say it was a good journey. I would have given this drama an 8 or 8.5 but I give this drama a 9/10 if it hadn’t been for the fabulous acting done in this drama. Story wise? There were some things didn’t make sense to me or things that were unnecessary.
The ending could have been done a bit better but regardless I am happy. Again, the acting was really good. Especially the evil princess. I throughly enjoyed watching her performance. I can’t wait to see more of her works in the future. The two leads also did an amazing job. Overall this is definitely worth watching.
Feels like I can talk about it freely now that the drama is over lol.
I like it but I can’t help but to feel dissatisfied and disappointed in the end. I loved the beginning episodes. They were funny and the scenes were done well especially when the two leads bickered. Regardless, the ending got confusing and I just feel like there could have been so much more.
This drama truly had the potential. I can see it. Especially with the woman empowerment. It would have been pretty cool if the female lead just flipped everyone off and decided to make herself a leading empress with Pei Wenxuan by her side lol. When I say herself, I mean herself. Not some edict or decree allowing her to lead the country.
Not every drama is gonna be perfect. There is bound to be something wrong or annoying but I actually like this drama more than others for the fact that it actually has a set in stone ending. Unlike other dramas where someone dies and it’s a vague and ambiguous ending which has been popular these days.
Sure there are things about this drama that aren't great but BE FR there are way worse shows out there with higher…
Just adding a perspective. The reviews might also be lower because it was quite hyped throughout its production. As we know it has a very high budget as well. Along with two star popular actors and other famous people. All this combined creates a very high expectation for people. So when these issues arise it causes people to be much more disappointed and dissatisfied. However, of course this doesn’t represent everybody because there are still antis, trolls, haters and what not. I’m sure the rating will become better.
True. I even saw someone that didn't even watch the drama and already rated it a 1 like why are they doing this???
Now, that is unreasonable. I can understand if someone watched at least 3-10ep and gave a review for it. But if they haven’t even watched the 1st ep they honestly shouldn’t be rating anything 💀
I totally get you.. the slow and the rushed somewhat really gets to me and the editing or directing.. OMG... i…
I think they did an amazing job at that aspect of making it beautiful and pretty to look at it but that’s kinda it. 😭 my expectations were higher for this drama bc of all the hype so it’s honestly effecting my review so far.
In the trailer the relationships felt deep and passionate. Then came the drama itself… I did not really care about the human princess and her spirit guard 😭 like- idk. In the trailer I thought I would get attached to them but honestly, I didn’t.
I really like Yaya and Lai tho. Their chemistry is actually pretty good. The acting is honestly better. I actually care about them and like them.
However, the leads are still behind in terms of caring about what happens to them so.. that’s not a good sign lol. But I think they’ll start warming up to me as the drama progresses!
Just finished ep 12.. I don’t know how to feel about this drama 💀 it’s been hyped up for months and these past weeks just for what feels like mediocre performances from the leads. (I’m begging you, can she use a little more facial expression 😭 maybe furrow the brows a little more..)
This is probably just a me problem but idk.. I don’t even have a high standard for cdramas but lord. I feel like I’m getting more disappointed each episode 💀. The plot moves somewhat painfully slow but it also rushes things. Like, how does that even happen-
Can we talk about the awkward transition into scenes. Sometimes it’ll awkwardly cut off into the next scene way too quick. And when an episode comes to end.. it’s honestly giving The Legends 😭☝️ quick and random fade out to the void. LOL. Idk.
Once again, the acting is just not really it for me. I don’t mean to offend Yang Mi fans but I understand Yang Mi’s character is like a stone face girl but that doesn’t mean she cannot expression SOME emotion. A lot of scenes feels more like she’s just reading her lines with a little acting rather than acting. I can say the same for the guy who plays the male lead role. He did so good in Word of honor. What happened?? Same with Yang Mi. She did great in Ten Miles Peach Blossom. Even then, her character in TMPB was a bit of a stone face but she still expressed her emotions out well with good facial expressions so again, wth happened 😭
This is just my honest opinion so far… maybe I’ll change my mind! Who knows.
