I liked it. It was sweet but brief. Normally I want more from a Korean Drama, and yes it would have been better with more background for each of the storylines, but was nice. Something to fill in the gaps between Not Me and Cutie Pie
am I the only one here who likes toh as a character? he's absolutely obsessive and oversteps his boundaries but…
THIS!! I agree with everything you said! I love Toh, as cringey as he can be (the trying to take the camera in the bathroom was no bueno) but if people would be honest with themselves, people like Toh absolutely exist. Do I wish he was called out more for it, sure, but I am enjoying Toh for all his cringey cute moments! And Jao's body issue thing was so refreshing and unexpected for this show. But I love that Sky was like, 'you body the way it is is great, but if you want to change, I can help you. I love that show doesn't take itself too seriously. Its a breath of fresh air.
The end was pretty good. Got answers to questions we have been waiting for and they made sense. I wish we had more KohJack, but their ending was cute. This whole episode was cute. I just wish upon a star that Bas learned how to kiss on screen. I have seen him give better kisses to Copter off screen. He looked like he had never kissed anyone a day in his life during the love scene, while Dunn was giving us every thing. Dunn definitely understood the assignment. The little pecks Bas gave at the end more more natural and believable, wish we had had more of those.
I also wish we had more Pok and Tong, less Mark and Kit. Pok and Tong deserved more screen time this season, especially this last episode.
It could have been better but it was certainly not the worst I have seen this year so far.
Re: the whole Peat storyline, I feel like the writers initially intended for the mental illness storyline to be…
I agree so much with this. I was also looking forward to seeing how they would navigate mental illness with a committed relationship but its like the original writer quit in the middle. Also 1000% agree that Jeff Satur deserved so much more than this dumpster fire. I really want him to sign on with Nadao, people who will use all of his talent and boost him to the level he truly deserves to be at.
I don't really want a season three unless they have a COMPLETELY different writer and director (those GIGANTIC pauses before they answer questions people ask was insane!) But I DO want to know why the HECK did Peat do ...well all of that!? Like why did he cheat, why did he disappear, why did he come back, why did he make up a mental illness to cover the cheating!?! Like Just why!? I need a better ending for Kaitoon and Valen, they deserved better. Just a season of seeing them be a couple and Valen navigating coming out. Maybe seeing Valen reconciling with his father (other wise what was the point of showing his dad to begin with!?!) I need to see King with someone else. And Non deserves to come back with the greatest love of his life and rub it in everybodies face. That is all that needs to happen in season 3, if they do it. Otherwise, please don't bother.
The best actor in this entire series so far has been the man who portrayed the reporter in episode 8. He knew his lines and read them convincingly. That is super sad to say. I'll finish this series, because I have come too far...but these last 2 episodes are going to be painful to watch.
While this show hasn't been perfect and it has been frustrating to the max at times, it is a way better drama than the Rainbow Prince, we gotta get the score up, people! This last episode redeemed so many wrongs. Mark Kit finally kissed like they meant it (sort of...I mean there was a tiny bit of tongue, so Yeah!)
While I don't like Kon Diao's reaction to Yi, I don't think it was based on fear of Yi but rather anxiety. He said that Yi never does anything when he does something wrong, and THAT was why he was scared of him. I think he loves him and doesn't want to lose Yi, so when he makes a mistake, he gets anxiety imagines about what will happen if Yi FINALLY gets truly upset with him. In that club scene, Yi literally looked like he felt awful for having caused Diao to be that upset. All that scene needed was for Yi to hug him to calm him down. That would have showed he cared. I don't think Yi expected that reaction as well. I hope they give us back story on them two like the do for Kuea and Lian.
Nunew's acting has been great so far, but in the car scene! Yeesh!! Top shelf! Chef's kiss! I was already impressed by the performance (if you have never heard him sing before, stop what your doing and go watch his video cover of Only directed by Zee, its amazing!), but that car scene had me chocked up!
All the comments about this showing being unrealistic...have ya'll been watching any if the other dramas!?! What part of 2gether, WhyRU, TharnType, or Lovely Writer, to name a few was realistic?!? This is not ITSAY/IPYTM which are really the only BLs with any reality in them. This is meant to be cute...hence the title! I think some lightening up is in order. Go look at shows like Physical Therapy, Love Area, Rainbow Prince, or Kissable Lips and then see the relief that Cutie Pie.
So many wasted opportunities for Mark Kit. As much as I love them, I wanted them off the screen this episode. Thanu gave a moving speech at the funeral about not wasting one moment with the one you love...and he told it to the wrong person. Why didn't they have Kit sitting next to them, so he could over hear them, get the text from Mark and then go to his man!?! That would have been a perfect scene! Then Mark Kit could have joined Thanu Wayu on vacation and had their own cute moments and shared the gifts they gave each other, just like Wayu and Thanu. Perfect episode created! Why was this so hard!? Cliche...yes, but not frustrating and unrealistic like Mark standing there so far away from his boyfriend who just lost his best friend. Not stupid like Kit SAYING he wasn't going to waste time anymore with Mark but STILL not going to him and stopping the stupid experiment. Not mindboggling like Mark saying, I'm going to join you no matter what and Kit STILL not going to him! Just Ahhhh!!!
Glad to see Pok and Tong starting to work it out. Phai and his wise words were a breath of fresh air from all the stupid going on. I still would have like to see Pok pleading a bit more for Tongs forgiveness, he was crazy mean to Tong.
I have zero desire to see Sandee and Phai together. They made Sandee too crazy/weird with no explanation and Phai does not deserve that level of crazy.
Thanu and Wayu scenes were cute if not long overdue. The only thing I wish for is Wayu/Bas to stop standing there like a statue when Thanu makes a move. This goes for most Thai dramas. When some kisses you and you want it, you put your arms around them. For balance, for intimacy. Every kiss cannot be the first kiss, where you don't know what to do with your hands. And Thanu gives you plenty of time to back out if you don't want it. The only Thai drama to do shy by ready well correctly was Pharm in UWMA. Moment of shyness/hesitation, then whoa mama! more please! I did see Bas slip that tongue in finally for the last kiss, though. 🤣
I'm in it to the end for some reason and I will probably watch season 3, cause there is no way they are wrapping up this mess in 2 more episode...Or they better not! But to say this season has frustrated me is an understatement!
So just from seeing the spoilers…..you’re telling me that Kits BEST FRIEND just DIED and he and Mark are STILL…
THIS!! I kept yelling at the screen during the funeral to forget the stupid experiment they are doing and Mark go over to Kit. Also, all that stuff Thanu was saying should ha e been heard by Kit, so that he would spend what ever time he had left with Mark. Sheesh! So frustrating!
I don't know what I just watched (besides a total mess). I have sooo many unanswrrd questions and next weeks (maybe or was that a teaser for season 3?!?!) episode infuriates me!! Non went from being sympathetic, to pathetic to just creepy. I get he likes Kaitoon, and at first Kaitoon was kind of giving him hope. But after EVERYTHING, if he cannot get that it is probably not gonna happen (even if that ridiculous kiss the teased happens) and probably shouldn't happen based on how Kaitoon has behaved this whole time toward him, he is nuts! So frustrated with a show that had some potential!
This show is TOO GOOD!!! I am literally on the edge of my seat the whole time! I was choked up for most of episode 10. I literally hate that I have to wait an entire week for the next episode!! The scene between the real Black and Sean was freaking heart breaking! Off and Gun deserve so many awards for their performance! Perfection!!
The show is super campy and that is okay. There is room for all the genres, tropes and story ideas. In fact they should be welcomed cause it would be so boring after a while. This is over the top on PURPOSE and if you have seen enough of the world, there are people this over the top. I laughed out loud and cringed so hard at the second hand embarassment that is Toh. I will be sticking with this one and not take it too seriously as they have obviously intended.
Watched Ep 4, I want to like this story... I think it is cute BUT the production feels sloppy, the script is really…
All of this! Yeesh, I was like, what doctor prepares a blanket on the floor for someone with a severe back injury!?
And I need to add that while all thr acting is not good, the actor who play Dr. Yang is the WORST. I have no idea what he is supposed to be conveying when he has scenes!
This kiss would have been better if they had actually moved. It was a good first kiss. But I am not a fan of repressed Wayu. Like your VERY handsome boyfriend, who you are obviously attracted to, is shirtless. He is leaning in for another kiss, either lift your head up and kiss him back or step away. Standing there like a statue is just...ugh! And it was you who invited him up, you even made up the excuse for him to 'use the bathroom' again. So you obviously wanted 'something' to happen, even if it was just more time together. Virginal and shy is cool up to a point, but he did 'something' with Pha last season, so he should be less shy with Thanu. I would rather see awkward but enthusiastic kissing. Not saying he needed to do anything with Thanu, but make up your mind and set clear boundries. Otherwise, it just looks like you are 'enduring' the kiss as opposed to wanting and accepting affection from your boyfriend. (Are they boyfriends yet, we haven't had to official ask yet, but they declared their love, so I am assuming yes...)
I agree with BadPennyGirl on the Pok/Tong situation. Pok has not done enough for me to make up for how brutal he was to Tong. Tong is like, gotta protect my heart because this guy cares nothing about my feelings. I mean I want tbhem to make up, but Pok needs to grovel way more, maybe even do a grand display to prove his love, ie Mark for Kit season 1.
Was NOT expecting Pha to die. Well not totally. I mean it looked like he might after last episode, but I was fully expecting a rebound. Also why wasn't Mark there. There is no way Kit didn't call Mark, if only to be consoled by him. When you love someone and are hurt, you want to be with your loved one, they are your safe zone. Agreement be damned, they should have had Mark storm in there and hold him while he grieves his friend. Side note, Copter and Bas acted their booties off during that scene, although it was weird to me that the parents left befire he passed. There is no way they would have left his side.
Did not get the whole Phai/Sandee clip...was that supposed to be showing us that Sandee likes Phai...we knew from last season and this season with all the really bizarre behavior.
I'll admit that I skipped a bit this episode, just cause the long drawn out shots were killing me. But overall good episode.
Best thing about this show is the OST. Jeff Satur always wins in my book. And he deserved a bigger role in this show. I did like the Phuket scenes showing Valen and Kaitoon getting closer as boyfriends. This show is great at giving us just enough to be like, dang it I want to see what happens next even if I roll eyes through 80 percent of it. I used to be in it for King and Peat, but that story is an utter mess. Only sticking around for Valen and Kaitoon at this point, so this last episode was good for me. (Despite the lack of good dialogue between the character. This episode begged for a montage, instead these drawn out scenes of each activity they did). Also, someone put Non out of his misery. Enough already. He is pathetic at this point. Even if he doesn't know about Valen, he HAS to know by now that Kaitoon is just not that into him.
I love that show doesn't take itself too seriously. Its a breath of fresh air.
I also wish we had more Pok and Tong, less Mark and Kit. Pok and Tong deserved more screen time this season, especially this last episode.
