Not as good as the anime, but I did enjoy the movie. IMO, Suda pulled off Haru's character which set the tone. His facial expressions and actions kept me watching and waiting for his next antic. Same with Tsuchiya - her stoicism was as close to Shizuku as an actor can get. Overall, good cast; I think most matched in either looks or demeanor to the anime characters.

There were a lot of parts missing from the anime that I would have like to have seen, specifically, the events surrounding the New Year; the scenes at the temple, Shizuku's house, and watching the first sunrise from the rooftop of the batting cage building were ones I wanted to see.

I, personally, liked it.

Just finished watching 0n Vimeo and, although a bit dubious, I honestly enjoyed every minute of it. It's a slow build but it hits home in a lot of areas. As Ifrah said in an earlier post...

"My favorite line was when the main guy was told by someone, "I don't like kids but you do a lot." and he replied, "I just love my own kids."

I can so relate to that and often wondered if I was the only person to feel that way. It felt good hearing it versed in the movie, knowing I am not alone in my thoughts.

As with most Japanese movies with this much depth, it leaves a lasting impression and makes one question what's considered normal in life.
On Mrs. Cop Season 2 Jul 3, 2020
Originally, this was a 'just something to watch' drama, but I ended up really enjoying it. Tough, feminine, mother cop, with strong morals returns to Korea with a vengeance. She takes on a new makeshift team, new boss, estranged hubby, eccentric dad, and one sexy devil of a villain and stays on top. This drama was definitely a power play for women.

Special shout out to Kim Hee Chan, who was outstanding, IMO. This guy has not had a lot of roles, but was a great addition. Keep up the great work!!!

A very enjoyable drama, although I had reservations at first. After 3-4 episodes, I was not warming to the main female character; I felt she was a bit arrogant and self-absorbed. But I'm glad I stuck around for the revelations and finally the ending.

To quote the reviewer "Aiosamii" from above... "This is the most annoying and blood boiling drama I have ever seen till now! I really don't know how did I continue watching it without any accidents!!"

That's the way I feel too, but I am nowhere as gracious as Aiosamii. I don't think I have ever hated a character more than I did Joo Dae Hae. Honestly, she should have been taken out halfway through the drama. And because of Ha Ryu's incompetence in his revenge, a lot of innocent people got killed. I kinda figured he was still in love with her and thus the ending that really pissed me off.

It was, however, a rollercoaster ride and it was easy to get swept up in events. I can only say, I hope to never run across another drama like this unless the villain gets a proper comeuppance at the end.

Not a great adaptation of the anime, but I wasn't disappointed.

I agree with Sayu that the movie showed more impact for Sekiya Jun's plight; it practically focused on the events from 33 years ago and portrayed much better than the anime.

acab1312 mentioned younger actors; yeah, in a sense I agree, but would they have the same impact as the veteran actors? Probably not, IMO. Trust me, I feel the same about Sato Takeru, who seems to be in everything. I sometimes wonder if a younger, upcoming actor could have played his roles, but then he gives an outstanding performance and I have to renege that thought that someone younger could have pulled it off. It's a gamble.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie and I feel each actor did credit to their anime counterpart.

It's so strange... I liked the drama but found Xiang Qin to be a highly annoying character. To be honest, I didn't think she had a chance in hell - well, I guess Zhi Shu had a stronger constitution. I'm not into the clingy type - I can deal with a few stalkers, but they have to have some finesse and be mature about it.

Overall, it wasn't a bad drama and although I had planned the watch the alternate versions, I can wait for a while.

Title Man to Man
I read all comments about Kim Min Jung as bad actress with bad hair in this drama, but I'm not agree... They needed…
Thank you 'Oldlady'; to me the fact that Kim Min Jung's character was different was the entire point, in my opinion, and why I enjoyed it so much. She wasn't, classy, a little quirky and over-the-top, but the lead actor liked her anyway. It was clear he was reluctant, even commented on it and yet, he still fell for her; a perfect scenario.

Kim Min Jung's character fit the role perfectly, so I'm not sure why all the complaints. Both Park Sung Woong and Jung Man Shik's roles were a bit immature for grown men, the first was way over-the-top, the other not as much, but no one complains about them. I have no complaints either, but I'm just saying that's the type of show it was - comedy mixed with espionage. It simply stereotyping of lead female leads in a dramas.

Title The K2
An interesting drama; not particularly spectacular, but I had to watch because of Ji Chang Wook. I'd watch him in anything, even when the acting isn't so great. The guy is the best eye candy.

Even so, it was the veteran actors who carried this drama. My hat is off to Song Yoon Ah who played a hellified villain. I wanted to hate her, but call me crazy, I just couldn't. She stayed in character to the very end and I respect that. The sibling rivalry between her Lee Jung Jin was exciting to watch and had me on the edge of my set with their cat-and-mouse.

Great action scenes and stunts. The plot may not have been all that, but the characterization was on par.

No worries, Kan, I agree that we should understand teenagers in that situation. Beating or threatening them, I don’t get, I mean, it only causes a rift between parent and child and who wants that? Although we have to understand the teens, we should also understand the parent's frustrations, as well. This is an opinion I have formed over time; I’m a bit older than you so I also look at things from the perspective of a parent. And trust me, parents are scared too.

Where to watch
Sorry for the late response; so much going on in real life. Glad you liked it and yes... it is a sad movie, but I loved the reality of the issues these two teens had to deal with.

Just watched Jeni, Juno a Korean movie with a similar theme. I was disappointed because it seemed to glamorize drama the situation. Not sure if they were promoting teen pregnancy. What a bummer. Anyways... glad you enjoyed it.

I totally agree with manicmuse review; no chemistry between the characters. The comedy was great, but the romance left a lot to be desired and then the ending full of fanservice.

Great acting, intricate plot, but the ending left a bad taste in my mouth. There are many things I can say about the stupidity of choices, but I won't.

A special shout-out to Kim Won Hae for his role as Oh Dol-pyeo of Ainsoft. This guy was hilarious in the dual role and was the comedic highlight of his drama.

I have to agree with you on #2 Deok Hwa of "Goblin". I loved this guy and he kept it real for me when the drama's momentum slowed a bit. The whole "God" appearance was epic.

I now have to watch "Chief Kim" after reading this and watching the scenes.
