I enjoyed the twists and turns and, 'who did it's' of this series, especially the last two episodes. The fact that I was highly annoyed there was only one survivor, let me know I was really into this series. The public's reaction to the school and bus company was too mild, in my opinion. What was more surprising, I found myself sympathizing with the young teacher and favoring, among the survivors, the stoic, know-it-all, Kamiya. Very good series; I gave it an 8.
You don't know why you love him? Lol. Let's start by the fact that he looks like he was carved by the gods and…
You are right Ghettoe when you say, "...he looks like he was carved by the gods, but I have to disagree in regards to his acting skills.Bin is a very versatile actor; sure he is a man of few words; however, there is more to his acting than the tough guy role in "The Man From Nowhere". His role in "Mother" and the war epic proved that to be true. Even if his looks go, his character and humanitarian efforts will keep him at the top. Just sayin'.
Oh no!!! Not without Sakai, I mean who else could pull off such righteous passion. I was excited to hear about the Hanzawa sequeal, but as WarrFork said, "I totally lost the hype."
This is the kind of (movie, drama?) where you'll either be VERY surprised @ the beginning, or think; "I saw this…
I definitely saw it coming; not a lot of depth, but it was good entertainment. I am an Arashi fan and these guys never cease to amaze me. I've loved Aiba since "My Girl" and Sho for his overall achievements, Nino since "Gantz" and Jun is great eye candy, not to mention their music.
Masato Sakai was top-dog for J-Drama's last year. Watched him in the first 'Legal High' and anticipate the 2nd season. He's such a versatile actor. In my opinion, Hanzawa Naoki' was incomparable, I have yet to see a corporate series that matches in intensity. Currently watching 'Woman" and it pulls at the heart. Will definitely give any historical a try, as well as Doctor-X. Great list.
Aww... I'm so jealous! Thanks for the movie summary, Hangebokhan, I'm happy to hear they are following the script from the manga. On one of my rare romantic moments, I am breathlessly awaiting the firefly scene with Kenshin and Kaoru. The animated version made me cry, so I wonder about the live version.
I think a season 2 would be great. Sato Takeru has really progressed and teamed with Watabe's childlike maturity, it made an excellent father/son characterization.
Great selections!!! Ip Man is an all-time favorite. Although I agree with you, I'm not surprised at the low rating compared to Ruroni Kenshin. This site has a large anime fan-base and the majority prefer that over real-life stories, such as the 3 named here. Not knocking anyone's taste, delivered with honorable intentions.
A beautiful story involving death and trauma; never thought it was possible. A surprise ending, which made this drama just that much more endearing to me.
I guess 2013 was the the year of the supernatural, telepathy and paranormal activity. My favorite on the list was 2 Weeks; I am glad to see it on the list, I thought it was going to be a sleeper.
Great drama and a perfect example of 'Poetic Justice'. Clearly, Dr, Jang learned nothing in regard to patient relations and humanity, even after realizing his illness. Although his contributions in the end were admirable, not even on his deathbed would he acknowledge his mistake that led to his trial. Of all the key players, I respect Dr's Choi and Yeom the most; one held on to his beliefs and the other found his through this ordeal. Both remain true to self and medical ethics.
On episode 5 and I am already hoping for a 2nd season. I love 'who-done-it's' and this K-drama epitome of suspense. Great characterization. Although a bit dubious of Choi Woo-Shik's role; however, he is outstanding as Det. Park Min-Ho. I also have a new-found respect for veteran actor Kim Sang-Ho. Both help lighten the intensity of the situations, while solving cases.
I really enjoyed this drama. It's not the most intense or realistic medical/illness drama I've ever watched, but it does hold a certain appeal. Personally, I think Lee Yeon-jae chose the wrong man and for the wrong reasons. But, overall, it was an entertaining watch.
Finally finished this drama and I was not disappointed. Crime and espionage is always a favorite. Lots of action at the start and then it kinda waned, but picked up again toward the end. Wouldn't mind a s equal, as long as Jung Yun Ho becomes part of the permanent cast.
This was one creepy movie. Normally, I can't get into stuff like this, but for some reason I was drawn in from the beginning. The ending indicates a possible continuation; I would love to see these kids extract some revenge of their own on Hasumi, to me, that would be the ultimate ending.
I'm halfway through this drama and I am very, very impressed. By far the best J-drama this year. Sakai Masato is a superior actor, I've been watching him since the "Shinsengumi NHK"; and he has yet to disappoint.
re right about 'Kuroshitsuji', the anime wasn't that great, but I will check out the movie. In fact, all three.
