The Rong brothers (old men who wrote the desert scrolls) sacrificed Rộng An/Ruo Wen to replace ML (while they helped ML to escape to Tanpui). ML and Na Zhan are half brothers. ML mother was Princess of Tanpui who fell in love with Lord of Yunpei, their marriage was never official and she died during childbirth.

FL had an inter dialogue saying she won’t be taking back her old identity in episode 17. So your concern won’t be a problem.

My theory is that the SML wanted to join the club to find a rich wife, so the male “Cinderella”. He couldn’t show interest in FL because that would hurt his chances with the rich women.
