I’m watching Falling into your Smile and I’m definitely not impressed with Zhai Xiao Wen acting or looks.…
Yeah I've had the same thoughts about him. It's obviously a very different character, but Xie Lian is a very complex character and I really haven't seen much from Zhai Xiao Wen that gives me any confidence in his ability. He's pretty but that's not enough.
Once Upon a Time in Lingjian Mountain was a great role for him and I adored him in Arsenal Military Academy. Both…
Yanxi Palace is also an extremely good drama, but Xu Kai's role is pretty minor, so you wouldn't watch it for him necessarily but it's worth watching.
So my answer is unfortunately (or fortunately?) all of them, but if you just want to see Xu Kai stealing every scene, top choices would be Lingjian Mountain or Arsenal Military Academy.
cw Ancient Love Poetry & he's quite charming *tho my eyes go to Dongyu all the time*. I kinda want to give his…
Once Upon a Time in Lingjian Mountain was a great role for him and I adored him in Arsenal Military Academy. Both are great funny but also emotional dramas. He's also good in the Legends, which was really good for a while but has very bad editing toward the end which kind of muddles the story. He was also adorable in Court Lady, which is decent, but he has very little screen time for a main role. The costumes and sets in Court lady are gorgeous, and there are a lot of great actors.
Though I liked 2HA novel, still cant understand why it has so many followers compared to SPL. I know that tastes…
Yeah I definitely felt more of an emotional connection reading 2HA (and TGCF, which I loved) but I'm not feeling it with SPL. I still feel like I just don't really get Chang Geng. I have no idea what his goals are or who he is as a person. He's just a completely unrelatable character to me.
But yeah I'm sure it mostly comes down to personal preference, and SPL must have some good elements since so many people like it. I think personally Priest's writing just doesn't work for me. I loved the drama Guardian, but felt kinda meh about the book, but I think that was partially due to my lack of familiarity with the folklore.

I have the opposite reaction. When I was reading 2HA I could not stop reading it, could not focus on anything else. I found the story super compelling. It is extremely dark and cruel in parts so I could understand it not being everyone's cup of tea. But even reading a pretty rough translation, I thought the story was well crafted and was told in an interesting way and I felt I understood the characters.
I have been trying to read SPL for like two months and it is just dragging for me. I keep trying to give it a chance because so many people seem to like it but I feel like I have to force myself to get through each chapter. I'm having a hard time caring about any of the characters and I cannot visualize all the mechanical stuff so I'm just confused all the time. I think I'm like 2/3 of the way through it and I'm just bored. I'm going to try to finish it and hope it gets better. I honestly think I will like the drama more than the novel. I really like the main actors and being able to see what's going on will help.
However, if it's not already discussed, you are more then welcome to ask.
You're clearly not sorry for being a rude ass person. And a lot more people agree with me than you, so stop assuming you know what's best for everyone.

I'm not sure why you think you're in charge of the comment section, but it's rude to demand people scroll through over 2000 comments to find the answer they want. People can ask whatever they want. No one is forcing you to answer. If they don't want to wait for someone to answer, they will scroll, but they don't need you telling them what to do.
