I've seen a lot complaints about the villains being lackluster. I agree the villains here are lame, and I normally would care but for this particular drama, I'm actually glad lol. Because if there were villains like BLMX from LOYX, that would just mean even more conflict and misunderstandings between the main couple. And yeah, conflict is important in any story. But truthfully, the conflicts in LOYX wore me out so much, I'm glad I can enjoy a sort of "fluffier" drama with the same two leads.

They deleted the scenes and remove the main plot of this drama because they want to reconnect this to the story…
Others have speculated the cut dream scenes were due to China's censorship, which seems more plausible. If the company was trying to limit JJY's exposure, I don't think they would treat fans to special modern episodes which seem very JJY/ZZH-focused, from the spoilers.

I've just finished episode 8 and her dream at the end is already making me annoyed. I didn't think the story would…
That dream made me super wary too. It never came close to becoming reality, though. XJ never married or intended to marry Cui Wan. And Cui Wan and FR ended on good terms.

so, those feature is just only a filler on this storyline ??
They weren't forgotten, a bunch of cut dream scenes have been floating around on Twitter, Instagram, Weibo, etc. People have speculated the scenes unfortunately got cut due to censorship

It just goes to show that people's tastes are different. I skim all of their scenes.
LOL same. The second couple's scenes don't make me feel anything at all

Can anyone spoil whether it is a happy ending? i want to make sure before I start watching. Thanks !!
Happy ending! (Source: Unlocked episode 40 and skimmed it this morning)

Standard international VIP iQIYI user here -- just unlocked all the remaining episodes up to 40. So excited!!!…
LMFAO they really trolled us by sticking the XJ-asking-emperor-for-a-divorce scene in the trailer. Never have I seen such a misleading trailer before (and I'm not even mad!)

In a word: disappointing. The rating is between two and tree stars depending on your acceptance/not minding too…
Thank you for the link! <3

And major yikes, I am no longer upset that the novel isn't fully translated into English. I have no interest in reading this kind of "love" story. :/

Glad both the characters and their relationship in the drama are so much more compelling.

ALSO FUN FACT these are points i found interesting from the novel because it's super different from the drama:1)…
These are super interesting -- thanks!

"When Xu Jin saw that her scab was almost healed, he was unhappy that Fu Rong didn't peel it off and have a marking like before so he secretly peeled it while she eas asleep LOL so Fu Ring ended up having to wear a forhead marking anyway."

--> Wow, that's so messed up. I'm glad XJ causing the scab to peel off in the drama was only an accident.

GUYS THIS IS PROBABLY THE BIGHEST SPOILER YOU WILL EVER READ BUT I ASKED A FRIEND BASED IN CHINA IF XU JIN AND…
What was the friend's source? As far as I know, the final episode won't even be available for purchase by Chinese iQIYI users until the weekend.

I know iQIYI tweeted "bet you will finally have a happy ending." And the novel has a happy ending. But I don't want to get my hopes up TOO much lol.

I forgot to mention... but I do think Fu Rong married Xu Jin because she likes him! and not because of her master
FR agreed to marry XJ AFTER she decided he killed her master. Even FX noted how she had been more hesitant about XJ previously, and found it suspicious how she was suddenly 100% onboard with the marriage. And it was obvious FR had every intention of stabbing XJ in the neck with the knife on their wedding night, and she would have gone through with it had XJ not caught her wrist in time. She had no intention to live with him as husband and wife, she wanted him dead.

Fortunately, from all the trailers and BTS photos/clips, it looks like they'll get married again later on, and FR will actually choose to do so out of love for XJ instead of hopes for revenge.

Episode 21 & 22 will please those waiting to see more interactions between otp including 2 not so passionate kisses.…
Seriously ugh, FR accusing XJ of being "petty" and not "trusting" her also stood out to me. Girl, you tried to assassinate him on your wedding night . . .

is it really that bad?
Surprised you find XJ to be "almost the same" as LFY.

LFY was a total ice block (though I loved him) while XJ smiles so often, is pretty playful and flirty, and opened up to FR much more easily (e.g. told her stuff about his backstory without her even prompting). And he's not just different in his interactions with the female lead but also with other characters. For example, whenever his little bro goofed off in LOY, LFY would just scold him; here, when WBQ played by the same actor goofs off, XJ plays along (e.g. that scene where WBQ was cozying up to him, and XJ surprises him by grabbing him by the waist and pulling him closer lol).

It's only in episodes 19 and 20 that he's been more guarded but considering what went down in episode 19 . . . I think that's fair lmao. He seems to return back to his usual self in the rest of the week's episodes, judging by the previews. To me, XJ and LFY are incredibly different.

What I do agree with you about is YX >>>>> FR so far. God, I miss YX's intelligence.

only ju jingyi use her voice.
Ju Jing Yi is dubbed by Xu Jia Qi (different Xu Jia Qi than the one who plays FX). JJY's real voice is actually much higher pitched.
