The valentine video special really intensified my impatience of waiting for this drama to air 😭😭😭 THE CHEMISTRY IS SO HOT 🥵🔥 my girl lyx is even blushing, both of them made me squeal, I'd be waiting for more bts and special videos. Others said that it might have a second season, and I completely agree with you, there's too many loose ends, like grandma's reaction with Shanbao marrying Jianglai, what will happen to Jianglai's career, what the f even is the purpose of the duke mansion? What happened to her father? What happened to the tribute that they gave to the empress dowager? How would Jianglai live his life in the Rong family? Etc.

Just pasting my reply here form another comment since I would just recount it here and I needed to vent HAHAHAHA: The most unnecessary arc ever, for me. (This was reply for the capital arc) It absolutely served no purpose, it didn't make the FL and ML have any development, the ML didn't even get to shine in the last arc WHEN ITS SUPPOSED TO BE HIS STORY. I hate that Shanbao repeatedly kept secrets from him and yet he was completely honest to her besides the first part. He's supposed to be expert in solving crimes and yet he didn't managed to solve his own affairs. No development from the FL whatsoever, we didn't even see her have emotions, she's always calm which is great but I would also love to see her have her weak moments to something that would make her more 3 dimensional as a character, the ml had development, but for the WORSE he was nerfed so bad. I hate that the side characters have more development than the 2 leads.

Its funny because I dropped it in ep 19. I couldn't endure it anymore. The pacing of the story annoyed me and they added so many unnecessary parts HAHAHAHA still love li yunrui though. And Xu Rouhan although this is the second drama of hers that I dropped (the plots just aren't hitting for me but she's quite good)
