So damn true, Japanese dramas ain't my thing as well,the acting is very cringe and the plot is all over the place. The only good Japanese drama I came to like was I Don't Love You Yet, because of the acting aspect of it. It wasn't cringe and it focused on the plot. But all the rest of Jdramas I've tried, really tried watching was cringe,with the exaggerated actor's expressions to the plot that's all over the place. And the ML are not that good-looking like you say lol! I love the language as well,and I love the animes but that's just about it
