I really don't understand why this drama has such a low rating. This is clearly a gem.
People should really not trust the evalution and just watch the show. After rewatching this drama i still feel like this is one of the best modern drama ever. I understand it may not be everyone taste but it is important to be fair in front of a great work.
The start may be slow but this a slide life drama. There is no complot, no unresonnable protagonist. Just people and relationships. I hope my comment will encourage you in watching this drama.
After watching this drama i really don't understand the low rating but i will assume it was because of the romance, and toxic the relationship between the three leads was. He can be cruel sometimes and make you seem like an idiot. Ji Xing may be smart, she may be strong ( she also has her own opinion), but when you have such a great boyfriend, who is also your partner, mentor, and the person you admire the most, you can only be at a disavantage. She will cry, like for real.
I know it will be brutal so i can't help but be afraid, not that he won't treat her well but that he may say something to her and she will never recover.

She feel like a failure and just one to be a little bit more close to him.
Marriage is no joke. People will say she is carreer oriented but how much does a woman have to give up after marriage ? She has to take care of her family. Let say her husband is not difficult to manage but what about his family ? The pressure to get pregnant especially in a chinese family. ( fact both family were already pressuring marriage). Then she will have to give up so many thing because her husband is a doctor he doesn't have that much time at first, she will have to make time. So yes, if she really want to develop and be were she wants to be she can only ask for time.
Also, men can ask for time but when the man is ready and the woman is not why does she have to let go of everything and get married ?

I love the FL and the ML and think they are great actor. They both give me a strong impression from their previous drama : Joy of live ( Sonyi) and Till the end of the Moon ( Jiang Xin Bai). Maybe that it's why I am a little disappionted with their acting especially the Male lead.
That role didn't suit him well. I don't know how to say it. I just couldn't feel the aura ! The little think that make me keep the character in mind and think of him as a complete individual. I tend to remember actors by their character name and don't really care about who they are, but what they give me through the drama. So i find the character development and interpretation really important. I still hope they will continue to play and come with even better drama.

Please i really like Haitang Doudou but i would never try to pair her with Fan xian. Not because she isn't great but because i don't support the harem policy. Since he has choose Wan'er he must stick to his choice or i may boycott the entire drama. It is not because i'm a huge fan of wan'er. As a woman, i just can't accept it and will just lose all my respect for Fan xia. Expect if she were to die tragically and he remarried to Dou dou.
I'm quite sad facing after watching the last episode of this drama. I still have to wait for a season 3 with many questions still left unanswer. I know there is a 40 episodes policy out there but even if you have to do it in 2 part, i just want this drama to end as it started. On a good note ! This drama really has the best community ever. He uses Fan xia's mother to rise up the throne and now want to use Fan Xia to get the temple. I believe that man want to be immortal and dominate the world. Because i just can't understand, he clearly know that by revealing Fan Xia identity many people will come after him and that he will need wu zhu to protect him on his trip. But, that man plots against his son protector and plans to kill him as his son is about to face a major crisis. What does he mean ?! At this point i don't care anymore about the princess. She herself said that everything she is doing it's for the emperor. I just want that man death. Also, the crown prince is maybe the most vicious of all brothers, just like his father. I even believe that the second prince may survive but he, certainely won't ! I hope they all die and just give me a break.
This drama really has the best forum of discussion. I am really greatful to be part of it. Some fandom tend to care more about how handsome the Ml look but not how profound and interesting the story is. This deserve a praise.

They are bound to clash and i am afraid of the day Fan Xia would want to kill him. It seems like the princess is the big villain but why do i feel like she has something on the emperor that it is why he is going through Fan xia hand to kill her.
