If Runyu had been allowed to grow up as a normal prince or if he was not treated as if he was inferior to his brother, do you think he would not of treated Jinmi as if she was his possession to keep? Also, if Jinmi did not want to marry Runyu and she was not in love with XuFeng, do you think that Runyu would not have been so obsessed with her?

Kuanglu encouraged Runyu to hold on to Jinmi. She made him think about all that he had been denied in his life. However, she hurt herself in the process. She loved Runyu.

True. Unfortunately, Runyu thought that if he loved Jinmi and kept her by his side, she would eventually love him. When Runyu refused to let Jinmi leave and he was violent towards the Floral Realm, he was crazed. The war between the Heavenly Realm and the Demon Realm was senseless violence in an attempt for Runyu to take Jinmi by force.

Runyu is worse than his father. He is in love with power. Runyu wanted to marry Jinmi but he was disrespectful towards her and very disrespectful to the Floral Fairy and Jinmi’s people. Runyu, the powerful bully! I do not feel sorry for his past turning him into a monster.

Runyu’s behavior became crazy! For nearly half of this series, he was levelheaded and kind. After his mom was killed, and he got obsessed with Jinmi, Runyu did not care if his brother, XuFeng was killed. Runyu became his father. He is a bully and control freak with Jinmi. If he cannot have her, no one can! Crazy!

The sex scene was very quick. That is why it was easy not to focus on it.

I liked XuFeng’s character. Some viewers love Runyu and will defend everything that he did. He killed his father. He killed an innocent man in his palace to hide the truth from Jinmi. He started to behave like his father when he imprisoned Jinmi.

Actually, I had a problem with simple Jinmi. She should not have become engaged to Runyu in the first place. Jinmi did not really understand love. We saw that she was having feelings for XuFeng before she got engaged to Runyu. Her father was able to see that Jinmi was not really in love with Runyu, but he thought that he was safer because of XuFeng’s mother who wanted to harm Jinmi.

I can see the flaws in the characters. I have been giving my opinions. A lot of people like Runyu’s character. I could not stand him. He was like able until his mom was killed by the Empress. Then his character was filled with hatred, rage, and jealous. I did not like Runyu’s obsession with Jimri. He lied, manipulated, and killed in an attempt to keep Jimni for himself. Also, he imprisoned her. That is not my idea of a great guy.


Fans see what we want to see. We have different opinions. Everyone is entitled to have his/her opinions.

I agree that XuFeng’s mom was awful. He wanted to protect her inspire of her evil and murderous ways.

I guess you can say that XuFeng was used to his disfunctional parents. Runyu had good traits until the Empress killed his mom.

I cannot stand leechy obsessive people who cling to people who do not love them. Runyu felt that he loved Jinmi and she made him feel good about himself. When Jinmi told Runyu several times that she only loved XuFeng, he should have let go.

I do think that Suihe is as manipulative as Runyu. She is probably worse. She was groped by the Empress.

Honestly, I did not expect Jinmi to stab XuFeng in the back and to kill him. However, I could not stand Runyu’s obsession with Jinmi. He did not love her. He became very controlling.

I did not want to see Runyu get revenge. He became as twisted as his father who he despised. I would have liked Runyu if he had not been filled with hatred, rage, and jealousy.

Unfortunately, Runyu killed to get what he wanted. He imprisoned Jinmi and became a very controlling man.

Runyu was a product of his environment. As a child, Runyu had no choice. As an adult, he had control over his actions.

Runyu made plans to overthrow his father. He poisoned him and planned to imprison his brother. Runyu was filled with hate, rage and jealousy.

Ashes of Love series

Actually, I saw all of Runyu’s flaws. He lied, manipulated, and killed to get what he wanted. Bad guy!

Xufeng was the best character for me.

Xufeng expressed his love for Jinmi first.

Runyu liked his father. He killed the chief of dreams to hide the truth from Jinmi. Runyu is a very bad person.

Runyu became a manipulative liar.

Ashes of Love

I watched Ashes if Love for Xufeng’s character. Runyu’s obsessive and manipulative personality irritated me.

I could not stand obsessed Runyu.
