Review Blind Detective Spoiler
My opinion on this part of your review:

BUT, and these are things that are big issues in my eyes:

- self-mutilation presented as something done to get attention

=> In some cases it has this connotation. There are people who, to get the attention of the loved one, even threaten to kill themselves. So, on the face of it, what would self-harm be compared to taking your own life?

- being gay presented as a "normal teenage phase" (the issue here is the "phase" thing, as if it were a choice)

=> This can happen. In adolescence, some people try to experiment with what causes curiosity. I have a lesbian friend who told me that her first homosexual experience was with a classmate who had dated boys before. After the kiss, this friend of mine continued dating girls, while this colleague said she didn't like it and only dated boys after that. So there are people who try it out of curiosity and this happens a lot in adolescence.

- crossdressing presented as something people who rape and have a mental illness do (see silence of the lamb, same issue)

=> Many psychopaths keep trophies of their victims and from time to time use them so that they can feel the same pleasure as when they committed the crime. This is said in several studies. So it wasn't necessarily crossdressing presented as something about "people who rape..." but rather that a psychopath kept trophies from his victims and used those trophies from time to time.

- Jealousy being portrayed as a female trait and a mental illness that can be passed down the female lineage of a family.

=> In this case the female character was jealous. Women can be jealous too, as this is a trait that can get to anyone, not just men.
Attitudes can be passed down from generation to generation, especially when they are treated in a natural way. Why do you think racism lasted so long? Parents were racist and slave owners, making their children (male and female) take it for granted. Until in a moment, some were seeing that it didn't make sense. However, this is not as simple as that.

--

In the same drama we see the principal's male friend cheat on the woman he loved. By "helping" his colleague, he ended up falling in love with and marrying his colleague's muse. Regardless of anything, it was not the most honest attitude and even worse was that he did not tell his colleague that he had married the ballerina. I'm mentioning this part, because this kind of attitude is done by both men and women, but the drama decided to make a man a traitor, but it seems that you didn't care much, making me believe that your annoyance is not for the actions portrayed in the drama, but rather because it attributes some wrong behaviors to people you judge "sacrosanct" and with "zero defects", which is not true.

The part where I see the police officer being beaten a lot to simulate a case, I was bothered, but not because she was a woman (which in her case was clear to be the problem), but because of the gratuitous violence, because as it is a simulation, I don't know if it would be necessary to hit so hard.

My biggest problem with the drama was some exaggeratedly interpreted scenes, but I know that this is part of Chinese, Thai and Mexican cinema. Here in Brazil we are less emotional in our soap operas and movies, so it's very different for me. So even with a good premise, I think the execution could have been a little different.

I thought the acting was good and the chemistry between the characters as well.

I went to see this drama without knowing anything about it and I was shocked when I found out how her power manifests itself. There are some strange, but justifiable points, such as the fact that the main character is 35 years old but acts like a 20. However, taking into account the place she lived and the life she had, maybe it was not necessary for her to develop of adult life".

I really like the character of the aunt. From the fact that she welcomed her niece with open arms, to her trajectory 25-21 with her love. I laughed a lot with the references.

Some scenes that were supposed to be funny I didn't laugh, but that's normal, since the style of Korean comedy doesn't please me so much, but it's not as bad as others I've seen.

The part of the puppy and his owner was extremely emotional and the highlight of the chapter. Everything fit so well, it was so beautiful and the dog acted so well with different expressions, that it is practically impossible not to like that cut.

Considering the first chapter, it's not quite a masterpiece, but maybe something light to watch on the weekends. I will continue to see what will happen.

it doesn't add up, why the mother friend/'aunty' is so mad at her and him, it's not like he abandonned her while…

Park Jinhong is weird to me. I know you all find him cute but he isn't to me. And he found out he has a daughter…
First, the drama did not detail the entire conversation between the two, but an important point here is that ML was having dinner with FL, telling his life and wanting to know more about hers, in an unpretentious way and simply discovers that he has a daughter. The news was not given without preparation and the girl is 30 years old! He discovers he has a 30-year-old daughter in the middle of a small talk.

I don't know how I would react, but it would be quite awkward to just continue the conversation by asking more about her. Imagine the amount of emotions that must have risen in his head (including anger for only now knowing this), confusion, surprise, shock, among all the things that really any normal person would need some time to process everything.

So I think his attitude was quite natural. Some would be very angry with FL for never telling him about this.

Title The Handmaiden Spoiler
I think my biggest problem was the expectation I had when I started watching the movie, but I started to get tired as time went by and everything was so cliché that I hoped that in the end it wouldn't turn into something like "the person looks for an innocent to serve as a scapegoat and in the end falls in love with him". Then what happens? Exactly.

When I saw the first plot, I thought it was interesting, but I had noticed that the rich woman was very poorly dressed and the poor woman was too dressed up for a walk in public. Then it made sense why. However, when I realized that the novel brought the perspective of the other and there was still a lot of time left for the film to end, I already imagined that the ending would follow the famous cliché I put above.

Unfortunately, I didn't want it to be like that, as the cast was really fantastic, but overall I found the film quite boring and predictable. Koreans have made much better movies.

Title Our Blues Spoiler
I watched this drama in an unpretentious way and ended up getting involved with the characters, even when they had little screen time to "tell" their stories.

In the first few episodes, my least favorite character was Lee Jung Eun, as she constantly acts as if she has the right to the lives of others. She gets involved, makes decisions and this gives an impression of an arrogant personality because she thinks she is too perfect, since she "got some properties", but that deep down, she doesn't have a real bond with anyone and maybe that's why she gets so involved in people's lives. people, as a way of feeling belonging to some family nucleus.

Over time I became attached to some characters, wanting to know more about their story. Depression was put in a very sensitive way, showing that it affects not only people, but everyone around you and it is something so serious that you don't even have the strength to meet the emotional needs of those who depend on you.

I also liked that the drama addresses characters with disabilities, showing their struggles and especially how they feel about themselves. The two disabled characters have sisters, so it's cool to see how different the dynamic is between them.

A point rarely addressed in "real life", but brought up in the drama is the issue of physical and even psychological abuse from women to men. As many men tend not to report when they suffer this type of abuse, either out of shame or even because they are not taken seriously, seeing it spoken openly - even for a short time - was quite interesting. This is real and happens in many families, but it is not treated with the seriousness it deserves. I remember once watching a program with real cases, and a boy who got involved with an older woman, was asking the police for help, saying that she locked him in the room and left him without eating, hid all his clothes for him did not come out and still beat him. He didn't defend himself because he was taught not to hit women, but he wanted police help, because even when he tried to leave, she followed him. He would ask for help and the cops would tell him this was just a "husband and wife argument" and he should go home. So I think it would be interesting to have this topic more widespread so that men can also be heard when they are victims.

Finally, and for me the part that I least liked and that towards the end, when it appeared I was seeing it at double speed, was the relationship between Lee Byung Hun and his mother. His scenes with Shin Min Ah were good, but the one with his mother bothered me, because she treated him badly - very badly - and even then people judged him for being distant and openly saying that he didn't want her close. Yes, I know she had an illness, but that doesn't exempt her from all the times she hit him, when she told him to stop calling her mom and just let him be spanked by his stepdad's two kids. A child growing up in such an environment, being treated like scum and when he reaches adulthood being judged for not wanting to talk to his mother just because she is sick, it must not be easy. Korea has that with parents. Yes, I'm a Christian and I know that we need to honor our parents, but that doesn't mean that they are free of any kind of responsibility for their children and can treat them with violence or complete neglect, which is okay. It is an abusively wrong view of the responsibilities of each one. At first it bothered me, then it got on my nerves, until in the last two episodes it irritated me so much that I couldn't stand to see this woman, who laughed at everyone and even the stray dogs (except her own son), appearing on screen. Which was pretty bad for me because the last three episodes were basically about her.

I think that's why I wouldn't give it a 10, but a 9 for sure. I found the other stories very interesting and engaging. It would be nice if we could see these characters again.

Title Not Others
After a plethora of "strong" dramas, I needed something like this to get away from the stressful everyday life.
I started watching in an unpretentious way and I was feeling good about the slightly crazy dynamic between mother and daughter, the absurd scenes, the script without caring much about details and in the end, it was good fun.

Hoping it arrives next week so I can watch two more episodes, making my Friday more cheerful.

I really enjoyed the first episode and I still do after watching the second. If it continues like this, we will probably have an excellent series.

On Lies Hidden in My Garden Jun 20, 2023
I found the first episode with an excessive use of techniques for creating a dark atmosphere: soundtrack, few words, dark light, camera taking only part of the face, frequent silence, scenes cut in half, it even got to the point that this excess it started to bother me a lot, because I had the feeling that the director wanted to deliver everything in 1 hour, when he didn't need to present a more cohesive story. In the last 15 minutes I was pretty tired, which really hurt the experience.

I really like the style, but it's not the easiest to create, as it needs to hook you through the script at the beginning. I'm still considering whether to keep watching, as I care very little about any one character, but maybe I'll watch the next one with the hope that things are more fluid and still harrowing, dark and fascinating. I hope I have good surprises.

ep 2 was better than 1. ML is annoying…
I already find FL annoying. He accused the guy of something he didn't do, then used his bathroom without the slightest consideration (that would be easy grounds for dismissal anywhere) and always has a superior attitude towards his boss. The troubled ML even took the trouble to defend her when she was being insulted by the Client, but when the ML was being challenged by a person at the airport, she simply hid. The woman is completely selfish, but let's see in episode 3 if she will completely ignore the fact that he said what he doesn't like to be questioned in interviews, making him embarrass himself on camera, or will do something right for once in a lifetime. life.

I really enjoyed this first episode. I confess that I went to see it to "test", but I was stuck until the last minute and wanting to see more.
The female character is really good. Are you watching King the Land? You should have learned from "See You in My 19th Life" when climbing your FL.

it's not the first drama to cast characters close in age as parent and child, nor will it be the last, lol.
When I saw them at the table, I thought they were his parents and only later, through the dialogue, did I understand that she was the patriarch's daughter. I think they got the wrong hand a little, because she looks like the sister of the actor who plays the father.

eu vou tentar mais alguns episódios. eu vim pelo hype porque não conheço o trabalho do ator e atriz principal…
I like him, mainly because he's the ML of my favorite drama (Just Between Lovers - which I've seen about 5 times) and he acted very well.
I don't like FL. I think she works harder and has more talent within her k-pop group. They could have chosen another actress.
As for the story, I thought it was pretty silly, but let's see if it gets better.

Is it a worldwide release on Netflix?
Here in Brazil, Netflix will only release it in July, so I'll check it out through fansub. Regarding Korean series, Netflix is not a good alternative, as it is always far behind fansubs.

I think at the end of the drama, the twins do not know their dad is Kang Ho...
Perhaps for the writers this is not an important point, but I confess that I was waiting for the revelation scene and I was a little frustrated when the boy called him dad and the girl commented that she was upset because her mother stole her boyfriend., as if that had been revealed at some point.

it's getting boring or is it just me?
I don't know the target audience of doramas very well, but if there's something they usually do, I think it's totally unnecessary, it's meticulous explanations about some point in the past, which was already clear through the course of the narrative.
Speaking of which, I consider episode 9 completely useless and it would be better if it was episode 1 or 2, because by the time we found ourselves in the drama and through our ability to reason, I already had an idea of most of the things that were explained .
I like Asian dramas a lot, but I think they should start explaining things more fluidly in the script itself without the need to fill the flashback episodes, because everything gets very tiresome.
However, in the general context I like the drama and I believe that if they continue with episode 10, without inventing anything so that the truth does not come out, making everything happen quickly in the last episodes and leaving several gaps, then can give us an excellent experience.

Title The Good Bad Mother Spoiler
I think I am the only one who does not see the mother as a bad person. I understand her. First her parents died…
Bad actions, even justifiable, are still bad. This mother's biggest problem is defining every step of her son's life as if he were one of the pigs she raises.
When he was little, the boy didn't eat, because she didn't allow him to have meals at that time. He had to spend 300 hours studying, because she wanted him to be a promoter, even when his vocation was for the arts.
Now seeing what a silly thing she did, with a lifetime of convincing her son to do all of this that led him to practically suffer an assassination attempt, she has already changed her mind and decided which life her son's puppet needs to follow: marrying a person he's never seen in his life and take care of the farm.
Worst of all, is that even knowing the problems that her decisions caused, from the little time she had enjoying her son's growth to everything he went through to reach the prosecution, she remains the same, only now the excuse is the disease, when in reality it has always been absurdly controlling.

I just started watching this and am on about episode 4 or 5 now. The story is great. I really am liking all the…
I believe it has been the most painful for me (I'm on episode 7) and unlike the other dramas that I keep watching one episode after another, I'm taking breaks in this one, because the forced voice of the antagonist is unbearable. The villainy is already enough for the characterization of the character, he didn't need those exaggerated props, like an annoying voice, Elvis hair and pencil in the eye.
