Speaking as an autistic person kento's portrayal of autism was horrible,
My neighbor has twin sons, both autistic. We grew up together and they are just like the doctor. The way of speaking, the body language, the logical responses, very similar indeed. I think the only difference was that instead of medical topics, our conversations were usually about insects and all their details.
what's wrong with the rating? I know mdl is biased towards jdramas but it's too low. The writer's track record…
The drama is good. I'm on the third episode and everything is working fine. The dynamics of the protagonists, the cases and the background mystery. I'm really enjoying it.
I don't care about the ratings of Japanese dramas here on mdl. I only come to read the comments, which is where you find a truer opinion. I don't know if it's because of my age or the script format, but Japanese dramas end up interesting me more than others.
It's predictable, tropey and it doesn't add anything new to the genre yet I'm hooked after having watched ep1.…
Everything worked very well in this drama. Even though FL is a little innocent in the area of love, we can see how mature she is at work, showing the personality of someone who had to take care of someone from an early age. ML seems like he's having fun with everything that happened and his ex is a huge asshole.
I liked the first episode. I really wish they would sort it out, decide to communicate better and stay together, but j-dramas are always unpredictable in romances.
I really like romcom and how the Japanese do it. In fact, I generally like Japanese dramas in general, much more than those from other countries. However, watching the last few episodes, I found myself realizing that if the three couples broke up, I really wouldn't care. Not that I wanted them to break up, but they all became a huge "whatever" for me.
Things between them never followed the path of communication. In order for a healthy conversation to happen, there should have been a discussion first. Why on earth is no one capable of talking? Why do they keep accumulating discomfort until they have a discussion so that they can reach a common point? Besides, they barely talk in a general context, they had little chemistry and most of the acting was pretty bad (I confess that I was very surprised by the actors' performances, because Japanese people usually give a lot when it comes to taking on a role).
It's not a bad drama to watch. The events happen more to complete the necessary time of the episode, than for the story itself, but it doesn't ruin the experience. But I lost a bit of interest and the last episode was "too monotonous for me".
It's good to pass the time, but I wouldn't put it at the top of my romantic comedies. Oh, I really, really liked the OST.
I've come to find MDL is very bad about JDrama information in general. It is definitely more geared towards K…
I started watching dramas with Korean ones, but now Japanese ones are my priority. I really love the themes that Japanese dramas address, the acting and the way they tell stories (without too much fuss). I still watch some Korean dramas, even though I know that they have become more "Westernized" lately. As for Chinese ones, I don't really like them, with a few exceptions.
However, one thing that surprises me is the ratings of Japanese dramas on this platform. Sometimes I go in to read some comments, but I completely ignore the ratings. If I took them into account, I would have missed out on a lot of cool stuff.
Koreans have gotten used to creating 16-episode dramas and letting viewers enjoy a lot of "nothing" for about 5 episodes until the last two episodes are messy, leaving unfinished stories and forgotten characters.
So when I watch the first two episodes and imagine that there are only ten left, I have doubts about whether everything can be told objectively if they continue at this pace. Everything was very slow in episode 2, while more and more plots are added. For the protagonist, there is the relationship with her son, where she categorically does not know how to deal with his disability and thinks that the best thing to do is to simply orchestrate the boy's entire life as if he were incapable; the marriage, which is clearly presented as the husband agreeing to take on the role of housewife, but has spent his life thinking "why did he have to give up what he loves because of something his wife caused?", the unscrupulous departure from the company, the mother in the hospital and the expenses she will have to pay even though she has no money, the scoundrel father and the sister who seems to not work, and now trying to pay for the factory and the investment in another person (all without a job).
Then we move on to the idol, who has to deal with the mother who abandoned him, the responsibility of defending a boy he doesn't know, the commitment to seem valuable to the new producer, the emotional problems and the anxiety of winning a contest. Oh, and the huge debt he will have to pay.
All this when I speak superficially about two characters, but there is definitely the story of the secondary characters and the development of the plot independent of all this. There is definitely a lot to resolve in 10 episodes - since in the first two nothing has been resolved yet - and the Koreans will need to show that sometimes it is not necessary to lose your hand in several dramas and that if the idol simply did not have debts, we would still have compassion for seeing him dedicate his entire life to something only to be discarded at the first opportunity or that the woman who built a company was fired for a lie. There was no need for problematic parents or the story of the factory. It was possible to create a story with specific problems that are part of everyone's life, more or less like the drama "Castaway Diva".
However, I am enjoying the relationship between the two and the direction of the drama. I just hope the protagonist stops for a moment and realizes that she really needs to have a sincere talk with her family.
I really liked the first episode. It was very dynamic and the characters were presented in a way that made them interesting, while others had only a few minutes on screen, but will certainly play an important role in the course of the drama, like the restaurant owner, for example,
I believe that the idol will have a family for the first time, as he was literally placed in the agency as a child, his parents took out loans and remained missing for 10 years. Knowing this, I'm already preparing myself for the parents' appearance in the final chapters, wanting money in case the boy becomes famous.
It was a start that left me very interested and I was very happy to learn that there will only be 12 episodes. The K-dramas of 2025 are shorter (almost in the J-Drama model) and this makes me quite satisfied, as lately Korean dramas have been dragging on too much between chapters 12 and 15, only to have everything happen at the end at once. Let's see if with 12 episodes they can keep the story interesting and dynamic.
I mean just 1 episode ago all the viewers where rooting for I-Na,I think the writer should focus more on thriller…
I never rooted for SFL. From the beginning I thought she was a horrible character. She knew the couple, was friends with them, and yet she agreed to participate in a "plot" to deceive her friend about her fiancé's betrayal on the eve of the wedding.
I wouldn't do that even if I was just friends with the fiancé, much less if I was friends with both of them. How can you participate in something that will cause so much pain to someone?
From that moment on I realized that she's no good. And now, as someone who always gets what she wants, she's decided that ML is her newest "toy". At the meeting he asked if her nephews would be too "heavy" for her and the answer was... silence. So even if she didn't plan the kidnapping, she's already shown that the children are a problem. However, she'll insist, because as she said, she always gets what she wants and, at this moment, what she wants is ML and his nephews far away.
The good thing is that she's managing to make me forget about the boring SML a little.
They managed the feat of adding two annoying supporting characters. The SML, believing that it will return as if nothing had happened, keeps surrounding FL and interfering in her life, wanting to occupy a space that doesn't exist. SFL, who looks thirteen years old, has seen a person for 30 seconds and needs to have them at all costs, literally as if they were a toy in a shopping mall. Knowing that she knew FL and still agreed to participate in a theater with SML is a big red alert.
I want to see what they will do until episode 10. There is the unfolding of reality, the resolution of the ML mystery and the protagonist finally trusting someone and marrying them.
The drama is good. Easy to watch, unpretentious and a good option to escape stress.
The first time I'm seeing the FL, she seems pretty young. LYK looks quite a bit older compared to her, even if…
ML is 35 years old FL is 25 years old 2ML is 27 years old 2FL is 33 years old
Yes, we are seeing a 10 year age difference (real life) between the protagonists and FL still has a childish face. However, they still make a good couple together.
It's been 3 years! So even if it was a misunderstanding, it should have been explained right away. He should have gone after her, especially knowing that the wedding invitations would be delivered and she even had a dress fitting.
That's why I don't think it was a misunderstanding, because it really doesn't make sense. What it seems like is that he did it on purpose. I believe he was having doubts about the wedding or wanted to go abroad without being married and created this situation to end it. I believe that not even 2FL knew about this, since she asks if he's not going after FL and just drinks his beer. But then he must have felt lonely after 3 years and wanted to go back to his ex who was single in Korea.
Anyway, 2ML will be a character who will test our patience until the end of the drama, like every annoying ex who we just want to have a total of zero scenes in each chapter. 2FL is really cool, I think it has potential as a contender and will leave us with doubts about who ML should end up with in the end, even though everyone here already knows who will be chosen.
This drama bothered me a lot. At the beginning we already see the girl being humiliated in the ring, but this happens and we won't always win. However, after that there were successive moments of humiliation, which caused everything to go downhill. The ML, which will probably be the one that the FL will stay with, has absolutely nothing good about it. What he did to the girl (who had just come out of trauma) was as bad as what she had suffered previously (and which was known to him). So, what's the point of this guy continuing to show up if it's not to get kicked in that place you know? I won't watch episode 2, because I know I'll make better use of my time watching something else more interesting.
I liked your review. I started the drama with high expectations, mainly because I really like ML. However, I was also a little apprehensive, precisely because I don't think ML chooses its romantic roles very well. I still took a chance because I usually like the scripts that FL chooses, so I had some hope that everything would work out.
I started watching and I was enjoying it. Unlike many who mentioned it, I thought the couple worked very well. I don't think the choice of ML's ex was the best, because she seemed much more mature than him, and I wondered if at some point she would really choose the protagonist as her boyfriend.
FL's mother was very annoying, but even so, the main couple and the secondary couple, as well as their stories were so engaging, that they kept me going. Until about the sixth episode I started to get too tired. It seemed like things weren't moving forward, everything was very sad and the positive parts were disappearing. The feeling was that all the characters were suffering a lot and the scenes where they had those sad, still eyes were frequent.
So I took a break. I really wanted a romantic comedy and everything about this drama led me to believe that. The publicity, the way the characters talked about the drama and the promotional poster all reminded me of a romcom. I have absolutely nothing against romances and dramas, so much so that my favorite kdrama is "Just Between Lovers" and it is a dramatic romance. But the feeling I was getting was that the director thought about a romantic comedy, but didn't accept doing that, so he started including elements to make everything more "serious" and lost his touch.
When I stopped, I thought about coming back when I finished, but this break also made me lose interest. I watched it here and also asked some people who were watching, and I didn't see any enthusiasm from them. So the days went by, the drama ended today and I'm no longer interested in watching it. What a shame. I hope ML gets a romantic comedy right and has the opportunity to deliver everything.
Thanks for the review. I loved reading it all and I agree with a lot of it.
I understand that she has her traumas, due to betrayals. However, there is a very big difference between a woman who is defensive because she was betrayed and one who is completely inexperienced in relationships. In this drama I expected the protagonist to behave like the first behavior described, but she delivered the second.
Her expression was always with her eyes downcast and she was constantly "taken by surprise" by the super natural attitudes of two adults getting to know each other, but for the purity of FL, these attitudes were treated as something from another world.
The two are not the best actors, but ML managed to maintain an acceptable standard. The story is light, I went through it without feeling hateful (as always happens when a protagonist decides to take a trip around the world, even if he went through the whole drama as an unemployed person with no home to live in), but I was still left with a feeling that it was a set of missed opportunities so that we could have an excellent drama.
I also thought that as a couple they didn't work. They were more like two "colleagues with benefits" than boyfriends and I was really sad about that because I like that kind of romance.
I agree that Anne Nakamura is not the best actress out there. She's more fashion-model than actress for sure.…
She doesn't work very well, but I confess that the two dramas you mentioned are my favorite romantic comedies. They are dealing with a subject that I like, with real characters, of older women who ended up focusing a lot on work because of disappointments in love. Saionji-san wa Kaji wo Shinai still addresses more sensitive subjects, making me even more anxious for the next episodes.
Ok her mom is the absolute worst human being how could you hate your own child and chgeat a strenger as your daughter…
At one time in my life I became ill and it caused me to lose movement from my neck down and loss of vision. It took almost 1 year of rehabilitation, lots of medication and a multidisciplinary team so that I could improve. My mother never visited me during this period. Sometimes things are like that, but you can't get infected by that.
At the same time how many times FL and SML will fall together lol, each episode they fall
Fell once. Then she fell and he picked her up. Now he fell down and kissed her on the mouth. In the next episode they will fall into a bed and wake up together and naked without knowing what happened.
For SML it's no really sudden, he has already some feelings for her before.I just hope SML will no be with the…
He might even have feelings, but did he behave like that in previous relationships or just now that he's realized that this one is probably going to be successful?
Furthermore, FL has been single several times, so acting this way when she is dating is a tremendous lack of respect.
I think the only difference was that instead of medical topics, our conversations were usually about insects and all their details.
