I've just finished episode 4. This is very slow and boring. I've decided to skip scenes and only watch the interactions…
I had to make it to episode 11 to start seeing even a little bit of interesting interaction where it didn't just have to do with people working 24/7. You may get ripped apart though for not saying it's a 10/10. It is partially interesting when the actual leads are interacting other than just making business plans, but so much of it is plain and simple business. I like slow and mellow shows, but I'm skipping so many unnecessary scenes too unfortunately.
Exactly! People are focusing too much on the actors’ looks instead of the quality of the drama. The show is…
There definitely has been rhinoplasty done, his nose is a completely different shape than before. But what I don't get is people only focusing on that specific thing and not about the show itself, like why now? he's already had the same work done in previous projects too and nobody cared, it's weird people are being so critical about it for this specific drama. Maybe it's because everyone has on less makeup so people want to nitpick at supposed visible flaws, but honestly I was actually happy there's less makeup on everyone, I can see skin texture! haha
Send hate all you want to, but there's something I have to get off my chest. If you're a Cdrama fan and think they're really great and you want people to watch them, you need to be kinder in your approach when it comes to your interactions.
If I even slightly criticize or say a drama isn't for me for my own personal reasons, I'm bullied and berated constantly from fans, told I "just don't understand."
You've gotta understand that people are not stupid like you think they are. Sometimes we just have differing likes and opinions, which is perfectly okay. I've never once felt welcomed into the Cdrama community of people looking to discuss similar interests or to express opinions in any Cdrama comment chat and the atmosphere around Chinese drama fans is toxic as all get out, worse than kdrama fans. You'll have your rude or mean people everywhere of course, but here it's fed into with a very mean-girl-like spirit behind them and nobody defends people who are being flat out insulted for their opinions, in which they put in the most respectful way possible.
Why would there be a comment section unless we come here to *politely* discuss things and share in the same art? Why waste all your time arguing with other people and just either enjoy or don't enjoy a show and leave it at that? It's not that hard. You don't have to pick a fight with every comment you disagree with then have 100 other people jump on one person for no reason.
Everyone should be allowed to voice what they think as long as it's respectful (Not insulting an Actor/Actresses appearance etc.) How will you know whether something is truly worth watching if one set narrative is pushed and the other side of the coin is buried beneath hate? Everyone has the right to know whether a dramas quality is good or not and if it's going to be suitable for them.
All I'm saying is be a little nicer, it costs nothing to be nice, although it's very hard for some people.
Just to let people in on it - Sweet Home seasons 2&3 are basically just the Webtoon authors "Shotgun Boy" with a few changes that's supposed to be a prequel to Sweet Home, but they messed up Sweet Home with making it a completely different story and narrative than originally intended. Not to mention Shotgun Boy was a PREQUEL, not a continual story like this where they screwed the whole thing up. This is based basically on a very poor version of Shotgun Boy, not Sweet Home. Save yourself and only watch Season 1 and quit before it's not even Sweet Home anymore. Season 1 is the Webtoon mostly with the ending missing, it's better to just go read the Webtoon after watching the first season and forget this trash exists lol
ehhhh I haven't read the webtoon, but I really liked the the first season, but I slowly grew disinterested as…
The first season is based on the Sweet Home Webtoon for the most part. My revelation came when I read the Webtoon authors "Shotgun Boy" that's supposed to be a prequel to Sweet Home in a way and realized seasons 2&3 of Sweet Home is actually Shotgun Boys story and NOT Sweet Homes story. The other seasons are terrible because it's not even the correct narrative. This is the exact reason you're feeling the way you are about it and so did I.
“I see your point, but I think RU tried to handle the serious topic in a different way and he’s doing his…
Eh just disregard the Fanta person, they troll everywhere and have Taxi Driver 3 rated as 1 star, it's one of those kinds of accounts that bombs ratings to highly revered shows and gives 10's to garbage shows that nobody liked.
Ok, to everyone complaining about the actors noses... this is a Kdrama with Korean celebrities. They literally won't allow certain people to be in the industry if they don't meet the beauty standards, they've all gone under the knife at one point or another because of this unfortunately. Many do get and currently have the exact same noses as they do.
Yes It sucks and I wish they'd leave their already cute faces alone, but.. can we just watch the show and focus on whether it's decent or not...? lol Heck, at least Ryeoun has proven he has acting chops, I think that matters more to me than a nose.
I really liked it...This is exactly what I want to see. Stories of working class and normal folks. Also, the fact…
That's a totally valid point and I do understand where you're coming from.
I'm not ignorant of any culture, but acknowledging the reality of it doesn't mean I have to agree with it either. I just kind of don't fully agree with their culture of overworking and having it be present in so many of their shows, nor do I fully agree with Western or Korean culture. Calling someone stuffed with Western propaganda is quite a stretch, I don't even consume Western media for one, because yes it is very propaganda filled. But you're allowed to your pov, I just don't see how insulting someone and saying they aren't being open minded enough is going to get your point across other than simply looking rude. Everyone likes different things and has different opinions, which we can politely discuss and voice.
I never said I didn't enjoy Go Ahead, I just couldn't continue with it after a certain point for a reason I saw quite a few having issues with, I was enjoying it though. After the ML kept stealing nonconsensual kisses and forcing his sister into a toxic relationship that heavily relies on her being his emotional punching bag due to past trauma, it gave me an ick I couldn't describe so I couldn't keep going with it. There was no precursor or build up to that kind of relationship either, very awkward and abrasive in an otherwise enjoyable and nice show.
But I digress, if I don't know anything other than what characters do for a living, i feel like I wasted my time on a shallow drama.
The fact that your very rude and bullying comment is getting so many hearts is the exact atmosphere I'm talking about above. These commenters are just adding to and feeding on the rudeness of others like it's a fun game to argue with someone who has a different pov than them. You aren't even being nice in your disagreement, you're clearly purposely insulting me and my intelligence based upon one comment, which I don't appreciate. Cdrama comment sections are a very unhealthy discussion space I'm noticing, I'm just trying to look around for different kinds of shows from different countries and this is what I'm met with. So much fun.
Omg just the first 15 mins of watching the 1st ep. I just went here to comment that the female lead's acting was…
People are chalking it up to supposed misogyny, but I feel like she can't even move her face. It's frozen in place and she can't emote properly. Her acting feels very off too, I'm enjoying the show but even Ryeoun is acting a bit too low-key for how good he can usually act. I wonder if maybe the director is part of the issue and not the people.
Maybe, but tbh doesn't that make it a bit more realistic? Work is a big part of our lives and some of us don't…
Yeah I definitely cited that, I get it but there's a fine line between realistic vs work propaganda in societies that overwork their people, leading them to have work be their only personality, giving them no time to be themselves, which isn't fun to watch. A good case and point of work focused shows - Misaeng. It's all about work on purpose and that's it's goal, but it's to show the realistic aspects of the Korean work atmosphere, it's in no way a romance. Something like this though shouldn't be about people just working, you want to see deep personal relations too, you can't build on the closeness of two people if they never do things to get them close. You have no reason to like this other person because you don't technically know them. I'm just skipping through the bland work portions because nothing they're saying is of any deep substance. Focusing only on work 9 times out of 10 leads to shallow and lazy plots, not realism.
Now I'm not assuming because I haven't made it extremely far yet, they might try to build up their bond other than solely doing work with each other, but really, if people are only working there's absolutely zero reason why these people would like each other. I had the same problem with Shine On Me recently. As Jack would put it in Drama terms - "All work and no play makes a dull show."
This is falling victim to me where most Cdramas tend to be, all they've done for a good chunk of episodes... is work. I don't know if their stuff is government funded or what, but most Cdramas feel like work propaganda. I want to see characters at work and their daily lives there, sure, but we need a balance. Go do something else after the work day is complete or while you're at home have hobbies besides just more and more work. I feel like I'm learning barely anything about these people in such a long time, their personalities revolve around their jobs. I understand if that's the norm or realistic for China, but I'm watching fiction to a certain degree and don't want to watch the same monotonous plot for who knows how long.
I tried, I really tried to broaden my horizons, but I think I'm going to stick to kdramas. I do enjoy how some Cdramas are low-key and slow, they have good Slice Of Life atmospheres at times - I tried Go Ahead but only made it 28 or so episodes and couldn't continue, but I did like the pace. I'm just not into Historical dramas that they're famous for and their modern shows are all work based/propaganda.
This has got some of the most hyperactive editing lol I'm ADHD so I can mostly keep up, but sometimes it's funny how someone will be walking into a room one second, then the frame cuts and they're already inside. Editor drank 10 cups of coffee working on this!
To all Haters , comment below with Timestamp which you think is AI generated, don't just randomly claim it's AI
While I understand and totally agree with keeping the baby safe, CGI can be used, not AI. Two totally different things, one takes away someone's job, the other gives somebody a job and a way to make ends meet. AI even copies and steals from other art out there, it's better to use CGI that a human actually worked on and not AI, which accomplishes keeping the baby safe as well.
Woah, I would've thought the ML actor was at least in his 40's. I'm used to watching Korean shows, lately I'm realizing many Chinese Actors are hard to guess they're age because they already look fully mature at like 20. I was seriously stunned to see he's only 29.
If I even slightly criticize or say a drama isn't for me for my own personal reasons, I'm bullied and berated constantly from fans, told I "just don't understand."
