To be honest, I don't really like that they changed the story from the webtoon. So I put this on hold after episode…
I usually skip the drama adaptation if I've read the original story. In this case, I just wanted to watch my favorite scenes from the webtoon, but I couldn't stand the changes.

I've only watched 5 episodes, so I don't really know. But many people have written that they introduced too many subplots for a drama with only 12 episodes. It looks like their fear of rushing things through has come true.
I'm on episode 20 and I'm increasingly agreeing with you. I like the idea that the mc is not a goody two shoes, but somehow I'm not as excited for the next episodes as I am for other dramas. I think I'll put it aside for a while.
What I liked: The chemistry between the leads. (too bad they had very few moments together). Taew's acting. Some action scenes. (Black mask)
What I didn't like: Some of the villains had thicker plot armor than a tank. The ending scene of the last episode was unnecessary. I don't know if they wanted to end the series with something surprising (there was no need for it) or if they wanted a second season (I don't think there will be one)? I'll ignore the final scenes after the beach.
As others have said, not good, not bad, average. It has a good basic idea, I like dramas with action and romance , I like the actors, yet I find it hard to finish (I'm at Ep. 38). The middle is too drawn out and many times I thought, the main character was too nice and innocent for this type of story.
I watched this mainly for the romance. The chemistry between the lead couple is so good. This is very rare even in pure romantic dramas. It will be hard to find another series like this.
I was going to watch the Arthdal Chronicles after this, but who knows when the next season will come? And the rest…
Good suggestions. What I'm waiting for: Back From the Brink, The Legend of Anle, Love Never Fails Maybe I'll try one of these: The Tale of Nokdu, The Princess's Man, Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People, The Long Ballad, Island.
So I put this on hold after episode 5.
Thanks!
