Since this show is based on real facts i think she will most definitely die but the son that he "adopted" will run away from him and he ( the king ) will chase his adopted son. The king will become the first emperor of a unified china. But i have no doubt that she will fall in love with him before all that happens and we will have some cute moments but that's how it will propably end. (But remember he became one of the most successful kings china has ever known but he was also one of the most cruel and a total tyrant) i hope that gives you some idea atleast how it will end.

( becoming the first emperor of unified china ). Try to look it with different eyes and you should think about what kind of person the king is. So far he's been good to her because you can clearly see that he's just doing empty threats, he would never harm her in any kind of way.
