I think Vincenzo said in episode 10: "it's either kill or be killed but only within our world" while talking about the Mafia, so I am pretty sure that's not just Vincenzo but the entire Mafia presented this way.

I think Vincenzo the character probably has values like protect the innocent, so while he was part of the Mafia, he still kept those values close to heart and probably acted on them as much as he could while doing Mafia business. He is also level headed and thinks before he acts. Babel's CEO is an unhinged psychopath with a God complex and without a conscience, who would destroy everyone trying to stop him (his dad included). That's the difference for me.
I want to preface this by saying this is not a criticism but a point of discussion because I know tone is hard…
I actually agree. From what I know in reality, the Mafia behaves pretty much like Babel does: creating a social web with high governmental instances like the judicial system, or the police, either by monetary resources or threats and intimidation, in order to protect the organization from any legal issue. They use threats and blackmail against civilians to gain resources. They are very present within the political circles and have influence over political agendas. They don't hesitate to use violence if they feel threatened. But if the Mafia in the show was represented exactly as the reality, then Vincenzo would not be an "antihero" but a full on villain, so they romanticized it a bit not to cross that line. As Vincenzo is a work of fiction, I can get past that easily, but the depiction of the mafia as an organization with values which is only violent within its sphere is incorrect.
I like that instead of watering down the main romance with needless love triangle drama, this show has multiple…
Absolutely! I HATE love triangles, plus each couple has their own dynamic so it keeps the viewers invested. And to my surprise there is not one couple that bores me, even though Shu Wenbo gets on my nerves at times, he can be really dense. I feel like him and Xia are very complimentary though. I agree that Dr Shao is an interesting character, and I really like him and Keyao together. They are both workaholics and have stern personalities, but they are softies inside. I hope their relationship will be well developed. Yes for LF and the female police officer, I'd be happy to see them together. And of course Mi Ka and Xing Kelei are a dream, I love them.
Honestly, I think Vincenzo had his suspicions that Jun Woo was Babo loooong before the end of episode 10. There…
100% agree with everything you said, that's my theory too, we thought exactly the same on every point. He started concocting a plan when Cha Young left after she received the phone call from Jun Woo. He probably already suspected something was fishy with Jun Woo and he finally connected the dots with the phone call. Plus seeing Jun Woo arrive with Cha Young was the nail in the coffin.
If those dating rumours turn out to be true I will be ecstatic but not surprised. The BTS videos show that Bai Jing Ting and Sandra Ma seem very natural and at ease around each other and have amazing chemistry off-screen. If the rumours turn out to be false, I'll be happy that they're really great friends who will be there to support each other. There is no denying that whatever the nature of their relationship is, they are very close IRL. It makes their on-screen romance very believable and enjoyable.
Vincenzo Episode 10 got the show's highest ratings yet: 11.375% nationwide, 12.745% Seoul area, with over 3 million viewers for the first time. Vincenzo is killing it, this is what I wanted to see, I can go and sleep like a baby now. Sweet dreams everyone!
man, hanseo told them who else burned down the factory, so it seems like he is perfectly fine with murder and…
He was definitely not fine with his brother killing that guy in cold blood with the hockey stick, he was also very scared of Vincenzo's mafian methods of dealing with his enemies. He is just a little boy trying to play grown up, trying to impress Jun Woo but he does not have the viciousness necessary to be at Jun Woo and Vincenzo's level. But I have no idea what direction he will take, I think he is the most unpredictable character in the entire show, and he may become the key character at some point.
He definitely likes her and seems for now she's the only person he doesn't want to hurt physically, but we'll…
I believe she will also be Jun Woo's weakness, and given that she is on Vincenzo's side, I think it will enrage Jun Woo and thus he will be more prone to make mistakes. He is not cool headed and acts on his emotions whereas Vincenzo always thinks before he acts.
Joon wo sent the killers to the plaza to kill vincenzo and he didn’t want cha young to get hurt , so that’s…
Yep, but I think that was a crucial mistake, because by calling Cha Young to protect her, he revealed his identity. There's no way Vincenzo does not connect the dots when Jun Woo calls Cha Young to come to him at the same time as someone tries to kill Vincenzo, especially with all the little hints Vincenzo got from before, like Jun Woo the supposed intern in a law firm shutting up the supposed powerful CEO of Babel. Cha Young is Jun Woo's only weakness, and it will cause him trouble in the future, especially as she is extremely attached to Vincenzo now.
Just when I think I can't love this show more, episode 10 happens OMG. We're midway through and finally the drama amps up big time. This was my favorite episode of the series so far, it had everything: Plot twists, possible betrayals, secrets revealed, fighting scenes, comedy, a touch of romance, awesome cinematography... Also the acting is marvelous, there is no weak link in this cast (I respect everyone's opinion but those saying SJK is not adequate for this role are wrong on every count, this is by far his best role yet, he shines as Vincenzo). The real battle begins and I am super pumped to see what's in store for us. If this keeps up, my final note for Vincenzo will be 10/10.
Cuteness overload in these two episodes, I was smiling from ear to ear every second. Where can I order a Xing Kelei? I need me one ASAP. Now though the wait begins for Thursday TT_TT
