Happy birthday!! I am so freaking happy to see him back in the limelight after the all the crap he had to go through undeservedly. He is so talented and sweet, he really deserves success. I am so excited for The Uncanny Counters 2, to this day season 1 is still one of my favorite dramas!
I loved season 1 (except the Beach part). I usually go into a second season expecting disappointment, but I loved season 2 more than season 1. The focus was on the characters, their dynamics and backstories, which made me emotional at times. The games were good overall, the K of diamonds was great, and the J of hearts was my absolute favorite (Chishiya was part of the most interesting ones for sure, he was also my favorite character in season 2. Unbothered King). The last episode was absolutely fantastic. I am wholly satisfied with the ending. It was worth the 2 year wait.
I ended up liking this drama way more than I thought I would. It was a very nice surprise. TSOMD has some of the best fight scenes I have ever seen. I love the family feel, when all the characters are together to share a meal. The food made me salivate, I would kill to try Sui Zhou's noodles. Also and most important, Darren Chen is so freaking pretty it is almost distracting.
This is the most enjoyable Japanese drama I have ever watched. I feel like it started very strong but lost steam towards the end. However I adore the characters. This drama is very quirky and one of a kind, a unique gem I can't put in a specific box. Mystery to Iunakare redeemed japanese dramas as a whole for me, I had stopped watching jdramas, but I might start again if I find a good one.
I keep trying with this one but I always end up dropping it. I can't explain why though, because I finished Glory of Special Forces without any problem.
Besides the Longest Promise (longest wait ever), this is the drama I am looking forward to the most, mostly for more Yang Yang action scenes after GOSF. I have high expectations for this one!
I absolutely loved the first 40 episodes. Military dramas are my absolute favorite, and this one started very strong and stayed that way for most of its run. However I hated the last five episodes. They were completely unnecessary, the show lost its spirit. They felt like part of a different show. Seeing characters like Bai Long disposed of that way was repulsive to me. I wish they had stopped at 40, and I will forever pretend the last five episodes never happened. I did not know Yang Yang before this drama and I thought he was fantastic, perfectly suited for the role. Also, no romance which is a huge plus in my book.
It was fantastic! As a big fan of true crime and a lover of Mindhunter, I was in heaven. Even though I was already familiar with a lot of the terminology and patterns, seeing the evolution of the behavioural analysis bureau from its humble start, as well as the slowly, at first begrudging, developing acceptance of this new type of investigation technique by the police was wonderful. And I still ended up learning stuff. The acting was phenomenal. I actually liked the slow pace, it gave even more realism to the plot. The best part of the drama were the interrogation scenes, I was completely invested in them, seeing the brilliance of the ML at work was marvelous. I could have done without that jerk cop for the couple of episodes he was there though. My only regret is that I did not watch it sooner.
I did not expect to enjoy this drama as much as I did. I love how quiet, subtle and nuanced everything is. From the atmosphere, to the cinematography and especially the acting. There is no dragged-out over-the-top action scenes, no loud comic relief type character. Also there is no police corruption or betrayal which is an overused trope for me, all the members of the team, from the top lady to the grunt have a wonderful cohesive spirit. And no romance, I don't like romance in my police dramas. The art was outstanding, kudos to the artistic team! I liked the episodic cases, the overall arc was kinda predictable though, and Shen YI's abilities are sometimes very hard to believe, but it did not bother me in the end. All in all 9.5/10, and I am eagerly waiting for a second season after that ending!
I only discovered him recently by watching WOH and I became instantly smitten. I was gutted after reading what happened to him but he definitely has gained a new fan in me. In the meantime, I will binge watch all his dramas and movies, he is a very talented individual that deserves the best.
YES to all you just asked. I noticed you started, so that's a good thing. If you're looking for bromance and found-family,…
It took me 3 hours to watch the first episode, I had to pause every minute to check who which character was, but I am on episode 3 now and I don't find it boring or overrated at all so far. I am totally invested in the plot, the acting is amazing, there are some great characters which I really like already. I am really glad I started watching it.
Yeah it's a bit more complicated than that but based on what you're looking for I think you'd definitely enjoy…
I will probably do that. I did that for the Untamed for the first episodes because I was very lost in who was who, so it is not a problem for me if the drama is a bit confusing at first. It looks nothing but outdated, I was actually shocked at how great the cinematography is, I did not expect that, it is seriously brilliant. Thank you for your replies by the way, I am sure I will enjoy the drama!

I watched the first 5 minutes of the first episode and I'm going to keep watching just for cinematography alone. Just wow. Also I read in the comments that it is a political drama, a lot of it is about big brains and strategy and I live for those themes so heck yeah.
I've been looking for a solid historical cdrama, and this one seems to be a good candidate. I actually am not a fan of romance in my dramas, which from what I've read isn't an issue for NIF, but I am however a big fan of bromances/platonic loyal-to-the-death best friends/group of people coming together and becoming family. Is it the case here?
I am so excited, we've all been waiting for so long!!!!

To say I am excited would be understatement of the year.
