The only reason Jimmy and Toh got together is because the entire universe for some reason wanted it. Jimmy made…
"Jimmy made zero effort to win him back. Even Fah lost his brain the last episode, why was he suddenly helping Jimmy?"
When you have to dumb down characters in order to create a HEA it's an half-assed resolution. Having Freeze joining in to help out Toh reunite with Jimmy, who treated him horribly isn't a loving gesture.
Sigh. It's my fault for not dropping this series early.
Don't worry, James and Kad will definitely get cast as leads in another mediocre BL series in 2027.
Literally hate toh. He's no different from jimmy both red flags. They deserve each other. Ngl i kinda ship Freeze…
But even Run isn't mentally in a good place to want to be attracted towards a guy like Freeze. Run has had three attempts to try and get back with Jimmy, when he knew that he never felt anything more than just sex with him.
Well, I guess that's what they feel the audience wants to see. Jimmy regretting his behavior, but he hasn't really changed nor took the time apart from Toh to truly reflect on why he let himself hurt someone that he supposedly "loved" and "cared for". No reflection as to why he felt the need to be so controlling over keeping his feelings in check over actually revealing how much he cared for/loved being with Toh. How much he loved the care and love he received from Toh.
He's been in a drunken, poor me stupor for months.
At least Toh had the self-realization that he still wasn't happy with another man, who actually put him first in his thoughts, and actions.
Everything that Freeze did out of genuine interest, concern, and attraction towards Toh, was also everything that Toh desperately wanted to receive and see from Jimmy. Nothing that Freeze could have done would have made a bit of leeway into Toh's heart and mind.
He just still wants Jimmy. It's a horrible place to be mentally and emotionally, to realize that you are not ready to receive interest, care and affection from from someone else, when you are not over the person who broke you in a previous relationship.
Toh will try to allow himself to feel something more for Mr. Freeze, but his heart and mind still wants Jimmy to choose him.
I really enjoyed seeing Fah telling Jimmy that the "difference" between him and Teh, was that Teh hadn't treated him as a object to "win", like he had done towards Toh.
Toh WAS treated like a plaything by Jimmy. Jimmy knew how much Toh has been invested and into him. Nobody else would have tolerated that crap from him, which was shown in that guy, who just wanted to have sex with him.
To anyone frustrated with Toh and his actions, Iโd really encourage you to read my review. Itโs easier to…
Toh and his actions do reflect something that many viewers do not like to see in these series. His desperation in trying to get Jimmy to express any sort of real affection, concern, and care for him, outside of Toh's actions in making sure that Jimmy's needs are met isnโt what we see in most BLs.
Jimmy's supposed to treat Toh like he's an angel sent down from heaven just for him, and he's not (at the moment).
Jimmy's treating Toh in this way, because he doesn't want to acknowledge nor accept that he does have feelings for him.
Toh doesn't stand up for himself, because the times that he tried, Jimmy scolded him, and not go down on his knees pledging loyalty, faithfulness, and love (not yet at least).
Of course Jimmy expects Toh to come back to him, after publicly treating him like trash, in front of his partying friends AND his other former situationship. Toh has already done it, numerous times, when Jimmy has gotten mad at him for attempting to make him feel guilty for treating him like crap.
They never, ever had the conversation about "what are we", because Jimmy would kick him out of his place, after he had sex with him.
Jimmy has been treated like the "prize" for most of his actively dating years, because he's always been the one in control. He's the one that tells his partners when and where he wants them to be around him. He allows them into his world, due to how much he wants them to fulfill his needs.
The writing for this episode was excellent, because I have vivid memories of ending up at a friend's apartment, way past midnight, trying to console them over having their heart, mind, and soul broken, due to some a**wipe treating them so horribly, that they couldn't keep deluding themselves that "if they just did this or that, he would finally admit his 'true' feelings for them."
Here we go once again!I'm genuinely amused by all the negative comments for 2 reasons!๐คฃFirst of all, if you…
"Unless someone is forcing you to watch it (which is a crime, punishable by law, so call the real cops ASAP!), why can't we enjoy it? May I point out a friendly reminder? This is only harmless entertainment! Just IMHO of course! See you guys next Tuesday!"
I will also be tuning in next Tuesday. I think this series is refreshing. Two 20-something grown adult gay men taking consensual sexual pleasure in one another is viewed in a negative way?! They are wanting to know about each other and the first step was through sexual pleasure. This is nothing new and shouldn't be this shocking. This is a different type of BL that they aren't written to wait until the last episode for a kiss and that's okay to me.
I want to start by planting my own flag clearly. I am a Western straight woman, married, and I have been watching…
"Walking away would mean admitting that sometimes love does not fix people, sometimes you cannot save the person you want, and sometimes pain is just pain."
Thank you for this part and we all know that Toh will be "rewarded" at the end of this series, with Jimmy pledging unending love and devotion to him.
Listen, I watched My Stand-In and disliked Ming right til the end, to me he deserved no HE. I dislike Jimmy 100x…
Thanks for bringing up Ming. I, too didn't want him to have his HEA with Joe, but those two were made for one another. Joe's soul chose him twice, and Ming never really changed. He still was a manipulative a**wipe, but NOW he used his ways to make sure that his new superstar actor hubby's career would have no obstacles in his way. ๐ ๐ ๐
All that Jimmy will provide Toh is the never-ending worry, that he'll never be truly "his".
there is a part of me that is rejoicing in Toh's pain - call me mean, but from the start everyone is warning him,…
Exactly, which is why the characters of Jimmy, Toh, Teh, nor Fah really don't need any sort of "redeeming qualities" for them to be "rootable". This is wish-fulfillment draped under the fantasy that Toh's and Fah's love will somehow "change" the behaviors of Jimmy and Teh.
I'm not upset, because Toh was going to set himself up for hurt, because dickmatized people do it all the time.
Toh is not using the logic part of his brain. He's going with how sexually good Jimmy makes him feel, thinking that if he just sticks it out, AND make Jimmy SEE that he's the only one that will take care of him, provide for him, and love him in only the way that he can, he will choose him in the end.
How many friends, relatives and even yourself needed a "snap out of it" intervention, when it came to that one guy or gal that got you so loopy over them, when they treated you like garbage?
When the parents took shots of that brown liquor, after seeing both of their sons making out, I laughed myself silly. These ridiculous plots work best in these short form series.
Thank you for such a high quality review~ It makes me see the drama in a different light! Previously I was thinking…
I'm a Gen X'er and how all of these characters are behaving isn't that mystifying to me. The premise that Toh has absolutely no idea that his younger brother, best friend, and future boyfriend are players, is there for plot purposes only.
He is not angry cz fah chose teh. Jimmy is angry cz Teh slept with someone he liked and didn't bother telling…
Toh being nice to Jimmy, is exactly why he continues to flirt with him and made his move on him. At this point, Jimmy's not concerned at all about Toh nor his feelings. Jimmy is using Toh's interest in him, as a way to get back at both Teh and Fah for not taking his feelings for Fah as real, along with trying to make himself feel good, that at least Toh is attracted towards him.
Fah has got Jimmy and Teh dancing to his tune, while virginal Toh is letting his heart overrule his brain regarding Jimmy.
Both brothers think that they are "special/exceptions", and that both Fah and Jimmy will be "different with them!" ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
This behavior is what ends friendships forever, but I can see that just like in the first season of "Only Friends", Jimmy and Teh will somehow forgive each other for all the secrets, lies, and manipulation they put themselves through over Fah and Toh.
Fah is definitely getting a thrill out of how sprung Teh is over him, to the point that he knows Teh is lying to Jimmy. He's not even showing concern or worry about Toh finding out that his friend is having sex with Teh.
No one on that entire campus hasn't told others about Fah's "no seconds" rule?
