He is so pretty I want to cry! I agree with the comment below me, he looks like a gorgeous elf! When I first saw him in Hwarang, that's what I thought too! I stuck with that drama just for him and was so happy that he was the lead in SWDBS! He is so beautiful and charming and he's such a great actor! I hope he gets lots more lead roles in the future! I'm definitely suffering from HyungShikness!

Oh wow just finished this! I thought it was cute but very cheesy for the first half but the last ten or so episodes were amazing and I LOVED the ending! I liked how open ended it is and it makes me want Season 2 so badly! Did she turn into something like him during the blood transfer? Is she pregnant and the baby is half-mutant so it heals her from the inside? Season 2 would be so interesting to see how they deal with these things and how she finds him to bring him back. Mayne he'll come back when he senses her worried like the last scene? I NEED SEASON 2!!
Just finished this drama and LOVED IT! And I loved the last episode! Also, can I say, wow who knew dressing someone could be as hot, if not hotter than undressing someone! *fans self* That scene was so beautiful and so sexy!
Am I the only one who finds Er Xi sooooo annoying? Ugh, I hate her scenes. I don't even mind Yi Ran or her friends but Er Xi gets on my nerves so much.

Yeah it honestly made me uncomfortable and took me out of some scenes. Although I heard the actress was quite sick when filming this and she's better now.
Just finished binge watching this series! I absolutely loved every minute of it! If you're looking for a cute romantic story where the couple acts like an actual couple in love and are just really freaking adorable together then WATCH THIS!! Even if you're not used to Chinese dramas, try this one because it doesn't suffer from a lot of the same stuff that holds back other Chinese dramas.

Ohhhhh I'd forgotten about the tear = pearl thing! Thanks!! I suppose that was his moment of true sadness to create the pearl but whether it was about him dying, her potentially dying from kissing him or them separating I have no idea! Oh well! Thanks anyway!

So like I think what hapened was Shen Luo tried to give him the pearl through the kiss but it was too late and he died before it could be given..... but like why was Shen Luo still alive??? Why did Wu Ju Lan just like disappear?? Why was the pearl suddenly become physical???
All season long I had a theory that Shen Luo kissing him and willing deciding to sacrifice herself for him would be the way they would both live on. Instead of it being forcibely taken from her, she willingly gives it. Like he would get the pearl back and would live but so would she because the act would be like a metaphorical pearl for her... or something... I know it doesn't make sense but I'm going to pretend that's what happened. That's why Shen Luo was still alive and Wu Ju Lan would pop back into the frame when the credits roll alive and well. THE END.

I LOVE Jiang Yi Sheng! He started off as just the goofy best friend but he's so loyal and is such an amazing friend to Shen Luo! Surprisingly he's become one of my favourite characters in the drama!
God, I wanted to be interested in this (b/c hello, handsome merman!?) but I just cannot get past the weird overdubbed…
The dubbed voices in Chinese dramas is annoying but it's one of those things you just get used to. After a while, you stop noticing it. I don't notice the dubbing at all with this drama anymore! It takes a few episodes but when you get into the story, you just kinda forget and it stops being jarring!
Definitely try to put up with it until you get used to it! This drama is really cute!

I know! It looks so beautiful! I heard it was filmed in numerous places. There were scenes filmed in Shanghai, New York, Seoul and Taiwan so I assume the gorgeous island scenes were filmed in Taiwan.
I already loved every moment of this drama as I was watching it but then I watched the ending and it really became absolutely perfect! So many great dramas let me down with a disappointing ending but this one.... ahhh what a flawless story from start to finish! Heart wrenching, poignant, moving, stunning and oh so romantic! If only ever historical drama was as good as this one!
