Yeah, it really sucks. I really wanted to see them act together as a main couple.
It happened like two to three months ago. They suddenly unfollowed each other, started posting subtweets and cryptic instagram captions and deleted a lot of their pictures together. They haven't interacted at all since except for when they had to for the 2gether movie premiere where both of them but especially TopTap look really akward and pissed. No clue what exactly happened though. there are a lot of rumours flying around but nothing was confirmed or denied.
Just a hunch and I have absolutely nothing to actually base this on but I kinda feel like this might have been a MikeToptap drama before their falling out. Guess I'm spinning conspiracy theories over here but here I go I guess.
This couple just feels a bit off. Krist has said he never wanted to be a BL actor and said after Sotus 2 that he wouldn't want to play in any other BLs in the future. I think this couple might have resulted from having to quickly find a replacement actor so the drama wouldn't be canceled before it's even announced. So because of their long running friendship Krist might have offered to take the role for Mike's sake.

If you had kept reading you would have realized that I am very aware that they are not a couple and that I'm concerned about the actresses well being.
What's weird about it is not them acting with other actors/actresses, it's that GMMTV chose to re-pair their new most popular actor couple this quickly when there would have been a lot more potential profit in keeping them together. It doesn't make sense as a buisness move.

Take this with a grain of salt cause I obviously don't remember what he said word for word but from what I do remember he said that he was going to a lot of auditions and didn't get any of the roles but then he auditioned for Sotus and didn't think he would get the role because there were a lot of other guys auditioning.
He didn't even know about BL at all at the time and after getting the role he had a talk with his father because he felt a little unsure about playing a character who's in a same sex relationship but his father told him that it's okay since it's just acting so he took the role.
I honestly feel like it's a weird buisness decision to put BrightWin into a series together without them playing a couple this soon after 2gether. Wouldn't it make sense to give them a new BL drama and milk the ship for a little longer instead?
I also feel really sorry for the actress. She's no doubt going to get some hate from obsessive shippers who can't tell the difference between fiction and reality. With this being her first role she probably doesn't have a large enough fanbase yet to properly shield her from all that.
Either way I'm a bit torn on if I should watch this or not. I remember watching the Korean version a long time ago and I'm kinda nostalgic for it but I also remember the male lead being very toxic. I'll probably give it a shot and see how I like it.

Agreed! I'm honestly kinda pissed about the plottwist. Like the story was boring but it was fine up to that point. I wanted a happy ending but not like this. It's just kinda sad because I feel like how this GL is received will decide if we get more GL side couples or actual GL dramas in the future. I was fully intending to hype it up as much as possible because of that but....not like this.
