10 minute Dramas are so good
This short JDrama is a side story of a side character from the JDrama "Caster". It is about the Director Assistant that follows the main news anchor and reporter in investigating untouched cases and issues that no one dared to touch.
I couldn't finish the mother drama of this because of how long the episodes were but I was fascinated by this side character so when I found out that they made a mini-drama for him, I didn't hesitate to watch it. This is why I long mini-dramas. They are conveniently short and full of impactful scenes that builds up the necessary plot and story.
Motohashi-san is the assistant director who dreamt of being a reporter. He studied abroad and is making his dream come true in the station he was working with when Toyama-san, a college intern joined the team. She is a hard-working young woman who only wanted to make her grandmother happy. Their interactions with each other is so pure and funny for me that I was rooting for them so much. They are joined with Toyama-san mentor and nice Korean colleague, Choi Jae Seong, who ended up liking Toyama but still rooted for her with her feelings for Motohashi.
Overall, this drama is packed with cute and subtle romantic scenes that makes it a lot of difference watching comparing it to the mother story. I like how Japanese dramas make mini-dramas like this to fulfill the thirst of the fans who are curious about other side characters of the story.
