There's alot of abuse going on in that MV...with the biting, slapping, punching and throwing that's going on hopefully people who are underage watching this understand that this is a drama and they don't romanticize abuse! I enjoyed the MV for what it is though bc let's be clear, it's script writing...I'm just saying that this is reality for some people...again IK this is just a drama, ijs....

Lmao you have a point there about Shi De not being a proactive pursuer:D but damn if he wasn't proactive with remaining number 1 for all those years, following him to every school he transferred too and locking them in a room for the night. (Some have mixed feelings about it)...but either way he's definitely the kind that shows his emotions through actions. That's why it's a total mindfuck that he's been separated from Shu Yi for 5 years...Shu Yi confessed to him yes, he initiated the affection, and he probably pursued him at his job just to slap him! He always pursued Shi De when he's mad at him and Shi De pursues him to compete with him, so after understanding where your coming from, lets hope they both openly pursue eachother lol:D

I would kind of like it if this time Shu Yi pursued Shi De..I would like to see his version of pursuit..I think they may be going in that direction since Shu Yi is the one who recorded the videos and took the pictures, plus in the poster they purposely show him still wearing the bracelet Shi De gave him. I suppose it depends on who "Mr 2nd" is, since we still don't know who came in first place on their last exam in episode 6. Shi De has said and it is written that he will remain in first place before Shu Yi falls in love with him so maybe he lets him win this 2nd season and we'll find out in the special episode?? I do agree with you that it's probably something simple that they purposely made confusing though lol.

That is definitely an interesting take on it and I appreciate this theory. I don't think Shi De lost interest though because before he was slapped silly he literally counted the hours (not the days) that they have been separated...that doesn't seem like something a person who lost interest would keep up with or do imho, but ya never know:D lol

With the chemistry and realism that Sam and Yu have been able to portray with their characters (probably stemming from the workshop as well) I'm really hoping that these other two couples bring it just as good!:)...I have read nothing but good things about Ray (the actor that plays the doctor) so from what I've read, his acting shouldn't disappoint:). Also from watching the writer's previous works, the side couples are normally just as interesting as the main! And from watching some of their bts, I appreciate how hands on the director is and how he has them do certain scenes over if he feels the acting for that specific scene isn't strong enough! I seriously can't wait:D

I appreciate your perspective because it gave me a different theory (out of many)!:D....When it comes to Shi De being number 1, I think it was intentionally set up to make him seem perfect...Shi De has insecurities because he was abandoned by his father as a child, imho it seems that he's still very insecure...he pushed himself to be number 1 to be seen by Shi De buuut even when they were together he told him that he had to be number one and pass the exam for Shu Yi to see him. (Their already together, what does Shu Yi need to see??) Shi De seems to be insecure and the only time his "perfect surface " seemed to crack is when Shu Yi confessed to him on the bridge. Shu Yi still likes competing with him but I think because he is in love with him, (we all witnessed how he changed when he fell in love)....His position (being 2nd place doesn't matter) whereas it still matters to Shi De. Does Shu Yi love Shi De because of the way that he loves him OR does he genuinely love him for him? Shi De always shows a strong/perfect surface to Shu Yi but we've seen Shu Yi's disadvantages and advantages. The only thing we've seen about Shi De is that he's academically good at everything and loves the hell out of Shu Yi:)...I don't think he just effortlessly won over him, I think that he pushed himself hard. He's even learned Japanese to understand him when he goes bilingual lol. Shu Yi is the emotional, romantic one (probably got that from his dad) and Shi De is more reserved and had to grow up quick (meaning be strong for his mom because of his dad leaving)...he's always pretending to be strong and confident for his mom and Shu Yi. I think he's more complex than that....I'm just trying to understand why he would leave/abandon Shu Yi for 5 years when he knows what it feels like. I'm sure there's a reason though...

In the poster above you can see that Shu Yi is still wearing it, whether Shi De is wearing his is unknown though.

I've realized this:p, I've went through 3 different theories since this post and rewatched ALL of the episodes lol

After reading all your posts and your breakdown and explanation of season 2 (thank you:))...I rewatched ALL of the episodes:D and realize that there is a lot of foreshadowing in season 1...like in every episode... I would break it down episode by episode but it's to much to write lol...also I understand what you mean about Shu De's 8 year time frame now:D

Yes, I actually googled "affective disorder" and it's actually "bipolar disorder" soooo yeah, doc is going through some depression it seems...as long as they don't romanticize mental illness I am allll the way here for his love story:)

:D I can't wait to see the type of person he is that the doctor fell for him:)...the doc's personality is a bit interesting.. one minute he's on annd the next minute he's off, soooo of course his love story is going to be good, given his personality of course:D

Shi De is really good at expressing his feelings through actions but he's reserved otherwise...whereas Shu Yi is a firecracker, so we expect him to show out and voice his feelings:) aayyee I can't waaaiiitt!!!:P

Shi De isn't that great with communicating...Shu Yi found out that he liked him by accident, he also found out
about Shi De moving by accident...EVERY and ANYTHING that Shi De couldn't say to him out loud Shu Yi has found out by accident...annnd WENT tooo HIM....SOOOO if it is his father...that reveal again is probably by accident:D because Shi De isn't going to tell him, smh. But I could be wrong of course
