I agree that I was also a bit disappointed that they didn't seem to utilize JM's character as well as they could…
Ooh yes 'depth' would have done so much for her character,i wasn't really hoping for a career woman but other than her feelings towards him i really don't see much in her characterwise....plus not building stories surrounding of the people around her leaves her character abit shallow for me.But i understand what you mean if it was male centered.
I am a girls girl but the female lead in this one is just a let down for me, apart from being with the guy does she not have aspirations for her own life, her character is abit too much for me...For starters, she left China for the guy... refused to go to Canada to further her studies for the guy, staying in Thailand for the guy. Then she goes further and asks the guy what she should study after she has finished her language course. In all honestly why does her life have to revolve around a guy who has a plan/s surrounding his life despite some of them being dangerous. The guy is book smart were it not for extenuating circumstances he would have gone to college, now we get to see him being street smart....he has his own garage while helping out at the restaurant and on a mission to bring down a smuggling syndicate. We clearly see he has a life and has been managing well without her in his life...Let us not forget she had the brains to say she can take care of him if he agrees to go back with her in China to their old house. She hasn't finished her studies, does not have a career neither have we seen her interest in any money making activity.....ooh yeah, even his friends have become her friends🤦🏽♀️
It was just above average as a show, with a low rewatch value. In as much people are saying it was fast paced,i felt the script wasn't complete...there are alot of plot holes that are being ignored.
The irony of this drama is the 'enemy' tag of the main leads, they should have used the 'frenemy' tag. They attended the same school and same class, honestly it they hated each other they would do their best to avoid each other but no they had the same circle of friends even had lunch together. The visions aspect gives it an upgraded version to Bad buddy
Honestly i don't understand why some people are saying this drama could have ended at episode 10.The amount of episodes were just right, everything was wrapped up neatly.Had it ended at episode 10 there would be complains that it was rushed. Each and every character had a role to play no matter how small, they weren't really an unnecessary addition.
This drama truly embodied the quote that 'crime does not pay'.James and Kang Eun Soo were not given a 'special' deal absolving them of their crimes but served prison time albeit a short sentence. The detective was killed by his greed, the entire time he had the money he needed to provide a stable home for his son.The arrogant junkie director did go to prison but his death was way too quick for him coz honestly he still did drugs in prison and was never repentant of the deaths he caused.Sua cutting off her mum was uncalled for....The biggest heartbreak is James' father knowing he was innocent all along and never told the wife who feared her son.
It's good because of the casting, and it's funny because of the effects. But the story is a little lacking...…
It reached a point it was just bland, stretching the last 2 episodes they wouldn't have been able to produce 16 episodes.I would rather they do 10 quality episodes.
It begins interestingly but by the last episode the romance between the leads is just flat....like there was no progress midway the series. The series could have ended by episode 30 but they just had to water down the storyline.
