cast did their part convincingly and OSTs are nice. But the writing in this series is quite flimsy esp considering how good direction and cinematography is :/
I forgot to mention, I loved dynamics b/w different characters esp sismance b/w Dan Ah- Mi Joo and Mi Joo- May. I wanted some more screentime for Seon Gyeom's sister and maybe her boyfriend Ryan :)
I'm kinda torn if I want to continue this or not. I like how FMC is a straightforward person but idc for ML at all. I also have no idea why SML is in the story now but I do want to see more of FL's friend and former gumiho :/
this is a good write-up. big ups to you :) Likable characters. Decent dialogues. Both couples had a good development. Music was soothing. Cinematography was nice. Also I loved all the movie references- E.T., Casablanca, A moment to remember, Train Man etcetera. The only major qualm I had was that it could've worked a lot better had it been shortened up to 10-12 eps.
I personally prefer my romance stories to be as boring as possible.I enjoy romance dramas where the entire series…
check out 'Saikou no Rikon' or its korean remake 'Matrimonial Chaos'. One of the better series I've watched in the romcom genre and I feel like if you're a stickler for good conversations and evolving characters then you'll enjoy it. https://kisskh.at/5992-saikou-no-rikon https://kisskh.at/29928-the-best-divorce

its not a bad thing. it requires writer and cast to work intensively and brings out some good creativity. I also prefer romances where characters can hold a conversation properly for some time over cheesy one liners with some romantic bgm :)
The case here is NOT whether romance is popular or not. It is indeed smh disliked and popular at the same time…
Some of the aversion towards this genre certainly comes from oversaturation and overconsumption. this might've also contributed in lowering the bar of expectations/standards of content in this genre compared to the other ones. And I can see some viewers who enjoy it, may end up feeling that content is inferior compared to other genres :/
Well, I'd say most on MDL enjoy romance as asian dramas have a majority romance genre, and its majority audience…
romance series/movies market is oversaturated with content. it has def caused aversion in a lot of viewers towards this genre. It is kinda true about marketing. In last 5-6 yrs or so, no. of producers/makers in this genre roll with the mentality of marketing the lead actors/actresses with a half baked script and content, hoping it would bring the eyes anyways due to cast. If it is made with such intention so how can you expect viewers to hold it in high regard :/

I have seen some users with aversion to romance but I did not knew that it was also viewed with disdain by avid romance audience :/ yes execution of tropes matters a lot more than its inclusion. And quite frankly in a no. of cases, it is not executed properly.
