The screenwriter Hua Ping revealed a secret to us. If you re-watch episode 1, at the 2 minutes mark when Shen Yi was in the hospital with long hair.

This version of Shen Yi was created using AI based on the exact same scene with the real Jing Yi with shoulder length hair.

After much efforts, I found Duan Jing Yi's birthday. It's November 7th, 2001. In the livestream promoting the drama on March 18th, someone asked about it so I finally found the answer in the comment section of the livestream post on Douyin.

There's a CPR scene that was filmed but didn't make it in the final cut. The BTS clip was so funny. Jing Yi did it seriously and SHN couldn't take it...she was pressing too hard on his chest.

She even used sand to make a heart on his chest. They're both like kids playing in the sand. So cute. Unfortunately, I don't have permission to post the link here.

Yesterday, I re watched the whole drama to write a review since there are none up there. I realized there are so many scenes I like. I listed them all in the review. Let me know what you think.

I like how innocent Shen Yi was in this drama. Their first loves were awkward but cute. Her inner voices is so soft and emotional...everytime she cried, I just want to hug her. Their relationship built up gradually and I can feel all the emotions.

This drama is good because we can clearly feel what they're feeling. The acting is very natural. Eye contacts were good and expressive.

The screenwriter praised SHN, she thinks highly of him after this drama. In fact, she produces another drama he was in. They finished it in November last year. This drama was filmed in early May last year. For a short drama, this drama has high production values. The casting is perfect...can't be better. Everyone does their jobs well.

As is, in term of short drama, it's already considered high quality. This type of short dramas are very popular now and Tencent invested a lot of money since they saw the growth potential. Short dramas took off in the last 3 years. Right now the quality has been improving. Tencent's short dramas has a higher budget so the result is also noticeable.

OMG...I just watched a BTS video clip of the scene where they expressed feelings for each other in episode 18 at the beach. In this scene, it's much longer than in the drama. She leaned in to kiss him but a little off at the edge of his lips. Then he turned his head to kiss her on the lips for real, 3 times. I can't believe they cut this scene. They must filmed this scene on the last day of filming because their chemistry was much stronger here. I'll send the link to another member here and she'll share it with all of you. I can't believe I'm seeing it...so happy...hehe.

There’s another BTS clip, also at the beach but they're both wearing black. Her hair was pink. They had another kiss in this scene too but it was cut from the drama. This is a shorter kiss but they kissed for real unlike in the drama where everything is off to the side. I don't know why they cut out all the good stuff. Maybe because she looks so believable as a boy...it's not allowed in China to have BL drama anymore so they have to make it less passionate to avoid problems. At least I know through all the BTS clips that they have good chemistry and the kisses are not so bad when they filmed them.

In episode 8, they filmed another kiss scene in the bathroom when he asked her to bring a towel. This scene is when they had a soft kiss and he even kissed her neck too. It's the most passionate scene they filmed. It's supposed to be her imagination scene but they also cut it out from the drama.

The drama was filmed in only 17 days. It's the first project as screenwriter for producer Hua Ping. First acting project for Duan Jing Yi. I think they all did a great job overall. I love the drama and was willing to overlook some problems...hehe.

Jing Yi just posted a very feminine video clip of "Shen Yi" on her Douyin. She looks so pretty in the clip. I tried to share the link but it didn't show up because I'm still new and they don't allow me to post any link. Anyway, I sent it to another member here, hopefully she'll post it later.

She wished herself Happy Birthday that day last year on her Weibo.

Jing Yi just posted on her Weibo and said that this is her first acting role. She was thankful to have a good director, actors and the team to help her and taught her many things. She will continue her journey with fond memories. She also thanks Shen Yi for being strong and taught her that in life, as long as you keep your original intentions and keep moving forward you will eventually win the trophy or be successful. She said a lot more but it's like a summary of her story in the drama...how she replaced her brother and trying to achieve her dream. Her cool appearance is shielding her inner weakness.

It's very impressive for her first acting role to be this good. I'm happy for her and can't wait to see her in more dramas in the future. I'm a fan.

The only reason I was disappointed with the last kiss when I saw it... is that it's clearly off target. He's kissing her chin and she's kissing his cheek. If they didn't want us to know, they can use some angles or just have their lips touch slightly... the position needs to be accurate...hehe.

The kiss she gave him right before the last kiss too. She should just kiss his cheek and not right above the lips. The position was weird. Anyway, it doesn't bother me much in the grand scheme of thing but it's something that suddenly take me out of the moment and make me realize that they're acting. I'm sure this is her first major project and she exceeded expectations. Hopefully we'll see her in many other projects soon.

I'm surprised to see her pictures with the wig in real life. She looks so beautiful in the green lace dress. But in the drama, every time she wears a wig, it's not as natural. I don't know why.

I'm usually just a silent reader but I decided to sign up just to post a comment to support the drama. Overall, it's one of the better short dramas at the moment. For a short drama, the acting is really convincing and surprisingly good. The main actress must be new. I searched all over for her info and only found some here and there in Chinese. English info is non existent. For this role, she was so convincing as a boy...she reminds me of Lu Han sometimes. The story felt real and her acting was best after her identity was revealed. The main actor SHN did a great job also. Like some people here, I'm also having some problems with the kisses initially. But after a 2nd thought it makes sense for them to be a bit awkward since they're so innocent...first love...first kiss.
The kiss at the end might be filmed at the beginning before she cut her hair short so I forgive them. Maybe she's a new actress and it could be her first on screen kiss so I tried to be more understanding and not let it affect the overall experience.
Anyway, this drama is one of the better drama at the moment. You should watch it.

I can understand your frustration regarding the kiss. I think they filmed this scene at the beginning before she cut her hair short so the chemistry is not the same. But I still enjoyed the drama and thought it was well done overall.
