Dropped this just before the halfway point. The screenwriting was pretty bad There might have been a good plot in there but it was hidden by so many facepalm moments. Not very good acting by either lead, the support actors were much better. Good premise so I hung in hoping it would get better but it got worse. The best acting was by Esther Yang.
I doubt this will be good for Kdramas or their fans in the long run. Despite my complaints about Netflix, at least they've helped, not hurt, Kdrama. I don't think we'll be able to say the same about Disney.
I'm just on Ep 2 so I won't comment on the story, but one thing I've noticed is the (English) subtitle translations are terrible. Some of the lines made absolutely no sense at all. I'm guessing Netflix didn't do this because usually the subs on their shows are quite understandable. I'll try to continue because otherwise I like it, but if that doesn't improve it's going on the dropped list.
I watched the first episode on Netflix, and have put it on hold. Not because I do not intend to watch it, but…
I've been a fan of Ivy since Perfect Match and she's the only reason I started watching this. Then I was pleasantly surprised to see Amanda Chou is also in it, so 2 of the top 3 actors in Taiwan, IMO, are here - I have to watch it. Not a spoiler: I'm on Ep 10 now, and a cast of this quality deserves a better production crew. Editing, continuity, makeup, etc. are sub-par. Still enjoying it despite minor complaints.
It's driving me crazy that Ivy's hair color in both Ep 8 and 9 (as far as I've gotten) changes 4 times in a day. Did they have to reshoot parts of this months later and don't they have a continuity person?
I think the cast was great and did well throughout. The problem was the plot holes and just plain lazy writing, it seemed as if they were still writing the script halfway through. They depended on PBY's ability to be cute and funny and used that to make up for poor writing, which I why I rated it a nine instead of eight. I don't see where the ML seemed all that dumb so I don't understand why its being commented on so much. I wish they had wrapped it up better, too many unanswered questions.
(not really a spoiler) This was definitely a 10 until the last 2 episodes then it became a 9 because the writers stretched it out with unnecessary filler trope. Still worth a watch although I'd have liked to see more closure on some of the (all amazing!) secondary characters. Viki did the subtitles and seemed to have forgotten the subs are for those who don't already speak Korean. They didn't translate signs and book covers and used many Korean terms and phrases untranslated. 5/10 on that work.
BTW Is it just me or does anyone else see a resemblance between Won Jin Ah and Go Kyung Pyo? They could be brother and sister.
Dropped at Ep 4. Just not enjoyable and I had to fight to keep my attention focused on it. I read all the reviews before dropping it, but it's not worth my time to watch 9 boring episodes (first was OK) for a big plot twist in the last 2. Shame because I really liked Ji Min in the other two dramas I saw her in, and Lee Jung Eun makes every drama she's in better.

This happened 10 years ago when she was still a child. If she wasn't a celebrity nobody would pay any attention to it.
