Ohh... Merlin, eh? I'm planning to hoard some American/British shows from a friend. Can you recommend me some shows? The ones I've managed to watch (and haven't really caught up yet) are The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother only.
HAHAHA I'm fifty-fifty with the two. I mean, I grew up watching lots of shoujo (though the first batch of the anime series I've watched are shounen because of my father) so I kinda don't like the common cliches so I tend to watch shounen for a change. OTL

Anyway, like you, I feel at times that I'm missing out things, that's why I want to learn Korean and Japanese. Yes, I also love a bit of both. I also like the "*" thing in subs. It truly helps in understanding what a joke/statement of a character is. It saves time that I could've used in searching up the certain word.

Because I've grown accustomed to Nihongo since I grew up watching a lot of anime shows, it wasn't too difficult for me to understand things in J-drama series better. What I'm trying to get used to now is things showed in K-drama series. Oh, and the worst subs I've seen is the one I had of Heartstrings. It gave me so much headache to understand because of the grammar. Though I'm fine with literal translation, its translation was just so bad I thought the subbers just used Google translate (which I apparently don't trust).
