Textbook good 40-60 episode drama
This is arguably one of my favorite dramas of all time, if not my absolute favorite. Anyone who's making a 40+ episode drama should watch this for its pacing alone. One thing I love about Wang’s Family is the proper pacing paired with good writing. No scene has poorly written dialogue that feels boring or stretched out, and it never dwells too long on any one scene or story element. It’s always pushing forward to the next thing or the next stage in the arc, constantly keeping you on your toes. And while you will have those classic cheesy drama elements where things happen for X reason but, for the most part almost every character goes through a wonderfully written storyline that's still a joy to rewatch.
My only cavate is that the first half of the series is like a 7-8/10 while the 2nd half is an 8-8.5/10 but Everything ties together, and nothing feels left out by the end. It’s just nice to see such a solid drama, especially for me, because I’m not always interested in every character in a drama, but here, they’re all great.

Just unnecessary long
One of my biggest problems is that it’s too long, not to the point where you can skip full episodes but, a lot of unnecessary scenes. The first 60 episodes, give or take 10, are great, but once you pass the halfway mark, a lot of the episodes just regurgitate the same drama or problem without offering any real solution, stretching things out in a way that adds nothing to the story. Yes, there are key moments that matter, but it still feels like I’m being dragged along. There’s no real build-up to the big dramatic scenes that happen every 5-10 episodes. Like I said earlier you could skip certain scenes in almost any episode past episode 60 and still fully understand what’s going on.And the ending is even worse. It’s your usual happy-go-lucky 'everybody’s friends' type of ending, which I wouldn’t have minded if it didn’t feel so rushed. It’s the same problem as before, but flipped: they tried to squeeze all the conflict resolutions, with barely any character development, into the last three 30-minute episodes. Meanwhile, they could’ve easily used the time from earlier episodes that were full of repetitive empty scenes instead of cramming everything in at the end.

a nice solid drama with 1 or 2 flaws
its a nice solid drama. the story is solid its enjoyable its an over arching plot from beginning to end it never overstays its welcome. despite being 20 episodes it never stays to long on one point in the story it moves on the next thing. all of the major conflict's surrounding the main character/important side characters are resolved by the end , and it feels good too its perfectly resolved its not rushed out its actually a nice happy ending which is more than most dramas have usually they might have a rushed everybody's friends now ending, like I can't stress how much I enjoyed the ending. The casting is for the most part is pretty solid as well a bit shaky sometimes but good.
my only real complaints are 2 maybe 3 things.
My biggest complaint is the music. Its not bad its good its just they needed more music to fit certain scenes. one sad song can't be used for every sad moment or the 1 or 2 romantic songs can't be used for every single romantic moment. when its good and it fits dang is it good but when it doesn't it just feels off
there was a plot around a character introduced at the start that was very important that got dropped I think because it didnt serve the over arching plot past a certain point
and there were also some recurring side characters that were actually somewhat interesting and would have liked to see more but they didnt go anywhere. but then again its not a big family. multi couple, longer drama and the story still works so I can't complain to much just deep down I wish ya know?
