A thai drama with straight couple? I'm impressed, I might actually give it a try.So many times I go to ongoing…
Hi, guys. Just happened upon these comments while looking for a good lakorn to watch, and I thought it was important to add a bit more nuance to the conversation.
MDL is a platform predominantly used by international fans, with the majority being English speakers. Within that demographic, fans usually watch BL and GL dramas, so you’ll generally see those dramas talked about and rated more on the platform when it comes to Thai dramas.
Thai lakorns are still the majority of shows produced in Thailand. It’s just that on this platform, not many of them are posted or available for review. The ones that are posted usually have actors who are favourites among international fans, and their dramas are often subbed eg of these actors are Mario, Yaya, James, Kim, and many others.
MDL is not a platform that should be used as a representation of Thailand’s entertainment output or to assess what the majority of the country watches or enjoys.
I’ll also add that it’s (MDL) not a platform that should be used to assess any other Asian country’s media output or what local audiences mainly watch or engage with either.
Second, I waited for an actual battle scene for XZ to showcase his martial art skills though, not an uncle-nephew…
I understand you. more fight scenes would’ve been great and a final wedding scene too. But, I must say, they probably wanted to stick to the novel because of the novel fans; the uncle/nephew sparring was an important scene from the novel.
Until the end, Changyu didn’t call Xie Zheng, as ‘Xie Zheng’. I mean, I love Lin’an Yan Zheng, but man…
For your 3rd point I was waiting for the reaction too but it never came and for your 4th …. Yea we deserved a wedding scene 😭😭 but it was also not in the novel, I think(not sure if I’m remembering correctly)
7.9???? My Romance Scammer is just amazing. The plot, the acting, the music score... GMMTv brought the big guns.
the 7.9 rating truly has me perturbed. i genuinely don’t understand how it’s rated so low so quickly. its only been 2 episodes and they’ve both been great!
how is she unfaithful when she did the same thing he did?
Fr. People need to be serious. Who wouldn’t have cried in that situation? Do people no longer have emotions and compassion? You can say she might have “over cried” but being mad that she cried over him dying is just nonsensical and inhumane. This drama was an example of how grey human life truly is. The world isn’t just black or white and that’s why it’s important to have critical thinking. You can’t just write her off and call her a bad person or a cheater because she cried over someone she shared her youth with.
