One of the worst kdramas I've ever seen, and one of the draggiest. I hated all the characters and it has so much filler as well/filler characters. You could literally remove half of the cast and the main plot would remain the same. Wouldn't recommend.
I also wanted to come in here and write what a masterpiece it was and it felt like that at first but wow they really dragged out the second half of the drama huh. This drama was about 8 hours too long... man did it feel like a chore to get through the last couple of eps. If they ended this drama in say 10 eps (8 for the serial killer case and 2 to "clean up" things for that smooth ending), it would probably be one of my favorite thrillers ever.
They spend all this money on the all star cast and production, and can't get something as basic as the writing right. Sure it wasn't bad but at the same time they played it so safe, and there wasn't even ONE truly intense scene in the whole drama - which you would expect alot of with the setting/after watching the trailer. It even felt a bit slow... These korean netflix originals keep disappointing. The ideas and premises are often really interesting but the writing just isn't spicy enough.
I do give them creds for not ending on a BS cliffhanger though.
Is the general impression that people hate the sisters? I didnt get that impression at all while watching. I can feel that its a very well written drama.
If you get past how shallow suicide is portrayed in this drama, its a decent watch for what it is. Many forced sob stories but a few ones are really good and gives you the feels, like ep 6 which probably is the best episode in the whole show. 8.5 sounds like a more fair MDL rating for me personally. Not bad.
Don't go into this believing its a sports drama. A has a bit fluffly and cute love story for sure, but followed by some stupid makjang sub plots. I would not recommend this drama.
Too long and dragged out, when will they learn? If you have a plot that lasts for 8 eps tops, dont make it into 16... I thought tvN understood this by now but apparently not?
Its a good remake without all the annoying characters in the original spanish version who only seem to think about sex. Still not really that super good so I hope they redeem themselves in the second season.
Were all the scenes with the foot fungus needed? They must have spent like a whole episode in total with it, if you collect all the scenes throughout the series. Disgusting.

Otherwise good start and bad ending.
