Not every single legal drama needs to have brutal crimes or serial murderers to get one's attention, but this drama needed a bit more spicy cases tbh... They were just so bland and uninteresting to the point it almost felt like a joke at times. I also felt the structure of the cases and how they were solved, was pretty repetitive with low stakes. The scenes with dolphins and whales felt repetitive after a while.
There is no major plot line between the episodic cases so there is nothing to really look forward to later in the drama/towards the climax, just a love interest and that love sideplot has to be one of the most half assed things Ive ever seen in a drama, lol. The mom trope was also underwhelming too, come on.
My guess is that this drama only became hype around the world because of the first episode where mr perfect, the adorable Tae Oh helps her with the entrance door, which I agree is a very iconic scene and super cute. Except that the drama is nothing extraordinary. I would give it a 6.5/10, slightly above average. Need a better writer.
Like someone else mentioned, I also wonder why they didn't let us see when the people close the her found out about her lies? For example the husband - a scene where he found out about it could have been the most intense thing ever as he was borderline psychopath. But nope, nothing. Weird af. Wasted potential?
The whole writing of this show felt very mediocre tbh. I really wonder why JiSung accepted this script. The ending was a kick in the b*lls after spending 16 hours of my life on it.

I agree that the initial eps had a super good hook tho, very addictive. You should all remember this writer... he only writes rushed anticlimactic endings. After the backlash with Vagabond I wonder if he isn't even doing it intentionally, just to troll the viewers.
Also what was that acting by LJS in the end? He cried more earlier in the series (like some others have mentioned already)!!! Did they have an argument on the set or something before filming those scenes and that is the best he could deliver? lol. Very disappointing by LJS, and I say this as a fan.

I also want to praise this drama for the cosy atmosphere which indeed was strong in the first half, but in the second half when the focus shifted from the main leads to the sub plots - it became pretty boring tbh and the already slow pace didn't make it much better. I thought the aunt, for example, was a decent side plot but she got waaaay too much screentime. At times I wondered if I was watching the drama for the main plot/main leads, or for her. When they started to show the aunt's OWN sideplot, her love interest and how he was approached by other women etc I just zoomed out... like who cares!! It hurts to say that this drama was a bit disappointing. Maybe it should have been 8 eps instead and only focused on the main leads, and then the feelgood bookstore club meetings as side content. Sure they could have kept the other sub plots as well as they were important for the main plot, but shortened it down by like 90%. Damn because I really wanted to like this drama more 😠We and my GF normally watch a 16 ep drama in a week or two, this one took a few months to get through...
