I was trying to guess how this finale was going to sort everything out at the end, and it worked great, and so did all of the special effects that brought it to life (if I can put it that way). π₯ππ₯
I liked how, after we got to the last hour of the last day, there was still just enough suspense to keep the ending open-ended, either for what we all come up with for an ending ourselves, or for our characters coming back for something new. π
If there is a side series or a continuation coming up, I want to see our friend with the portable oxygen tank come back as part of a side couple. π¨π½βπ¦― He can have his Plymouth back, too. π
The story, the effects, the acting and all of the small details were great throughout this whole series, and I'm glad I kept coming back every week.
Best with his shirt off was what I expected to be the highlight of the series, but I've got to say that Art's role in this was probably the most profound part of all of this. Right now, we have him on Sundays on the swim team in one series, and on Saturday he's here almost stepping on the eyeball on the floor. πππ½ββοΈπ πποΈ Quite a difference in roles, and it was fun to watch.
I always hope for something completely different in a new series that no one else has done, and this show did it every week. π₯° I had been drawn in by the sci-fi aspect of the plot, but there was a lot more here to enjoy besides that, and I wasn't disappointed with the ending.
When 'Color Rush 2' wrapped up, the credits rolled on the finale, and then, pushed right into the last 30 seconds, here comes a cliffhanger out of nowhere. π³ I was like, "Wait. . .play that back. . .WHAT WAS THAT???" π€
When 'Color Rush 2' did that, I was disappointed because I felt a bit cheated, but the way it was done here worked because there are 1000 different variables that I can dream up for what might be next. π
I'll gladly do a rewatch of this series, and I'll fast forward only for the one scene with the puppy. But, that's how Armageddon works, I guess. β οΈ
Like some of the other good shows through the course of the year, I wish these episodes here were longer than :15 - :20 minutes. ππ«π There's room for a lot more of the story. . .especially the historical scenes. π But, with the time that they have, it's working. π
Denis is definitely a 100:1 rare character in this one, almost on the same lines as Fiat in 'TharnType2' and 'Don't Say No'. ππ With either of these characters, I can't decide whether I'd want to throw him upside down into a trash can or give him a hug. π I'm like, "We need to kick you out of this series, but you're too adorable". . . π₯°
Fridays are no longer Fridays unless I see these two and they never stop being fun to watch. π₯° It doesn't seem like we are already 8 episodes into this already, but there has been no shortage of sparks to get us there. π
I liked the breakfast that Noey left behind for Thi, and the flowers he left on the table. π It made me forget that Thi had paid for the snacks and sandwich himself the night before in the convenience store. π
I was a bit off on my guesswork for the scene where Thi got out of class and walked outside. When he stepped to the sidewalk, I was ready to count :10 seconds before Noey pulled up with his bike. ποΈ It was actually :27 seconds. . .π
The scene at Noey's dinner table was a rare treat to see, too. π½οΈπ±ππ This is one of those scenes where you can just shut off the subtitles and get the gist of the entire scene with just the looks alone around the table. πππ₯°ππ² Noey is going to 'Thi Class' and giving it 100% effort. π₯°
. . .and it made me hungry for fish. . .πππ
With that, I'm not too worried about Phayu causing too much angst in the episodes ahead. Noey will fight for Thi at every turn and win every time. π₯π‘π₯
Early on, I wasn't prepared for how great this show was put together, between the acting talents and what they've put into this story, and now I'm hooked on it every Friday. π This show is definitely like the warm towel coming out of the dryer. π€
Maybe, in #9, we'll get to see a new set of pajamas appear, too. π€£π€£π€£
Ohm has absolutely no good luck on a bike, on camera. ππ₯ποΈπ₯ Last time, in 'Sunshine Night', it was a truck turning into his path. π Two series. . .two road rashes. . . βοΈ π€π€βοΈ
I'm always happiest when we see a lot of the 'Purple World', so this was a fun episode for me. π I'm no closer in guessing which way the twists and turns are taking us, but I am fairly confident that our fellow screenplay writers are not going to give us a 'Make Our Days Count' ending and give Dew angel wings in the last episode. β οΈπ¬β οΈ
Mum will save the day somehow. π¦Ήπ½ I'll bet he already has a red apple stashed in the 'purple world' somewhere to help things along. π I'm sorry. . .π€£
I've enjoyed all seven shows that have come our way, so I'll be here next Friday to let #8 do its thing. I'm still a little confused with where my guesses are going to explain the mysteries of the universe(s), but those questions will all be answered here by the end of the month. ποΈ
. . .unless, of course, they quietly slip in an Episode #12 & #13. . . π³
I'd personally make an exception for this one. π₯π¬πΊ
For everyone here that is disappointed and bored, there is another that loves every aspect of this series. I waited 34 months to see this series to come to life, and I'm one who hasn't been disappointed once. π₯°
It's not easy to follow up a series like 'Until We Meet Again', but this one has done a great job of it. π I'm hoping that you get to see it for at least 11 of the scenes (that I won't give away and spoil it for you). π
I think the first and foremost thing viewers need to know coming into this drama, is that this is not a romance…
Thank you for saying that. π
With the hinting at romance so early in this series, I was one of those who kept waiting for fireworks and nuclear-scale BL by Episode #5. Knowing what I know now, I should have lowered my expectations about two notches, and the BL scenes wouldn't have felt like they were missing or on the cutting room floor. π
Thank you, too, for being our Spirit Guide (π§π½ββοΈ) through all of these shows and for keeping us up to date on what's in production, what's on-hold, and what's changing. π π₯°π
"Even though this whole saga has settled into a bromance with wigs"HA HA HA!That comment killed me :D
I'm still hoping for a scenario for #14 where Lucky comes back in human form and sweeps Champ off of his feet. π¦π§π½ββοΈπ¨π½
Chompo's brother needs a distraction badly, too, so I'm going with yours. π Quite a feat when we see more of a chance of her brother hitting it off compared to Em & Name. π
Speaking of Champ, it's funny that Title S. played Tal in '12%' and wanted Seeiw in the worst way. π Now, he's playing Champ, is in the same house, but he climbs the stairs and it's his Dad instead of Seeiw. π€£
I've got the 'Cherry Magic' bookmarked for later, but I've seen only about a third of the movie, so far. It does seem to have the same chemistry as the series did, though. π₯° That's always worth a rewatch. . .and now it comes to Thailand in the middle of this year. ποΈπ¬ποΈ
'Once Again' is bookmarked, too, and I've seen just the first episode of it. I'm going to work on that one this week, and I might even check into 'Minato Coin Laundry' to see what the excitement is about there. π
"Even though this whole saga has settled into a bromance with wigs"HA HA HA!That comment killed me :D
I don't think it's the same production house as much as the possibility that it's a property that happened to be available for scene locations at the same time as '12%'. π₯π¬π΄βΊπ΄
Kind of on the same lines as the house that Win's family lives in on 'Between Us', and the permission to film around certain college buildings.
There are a few times where I've had to pause and say, "Wait. . .I've seen this before. . .this is the same condo as 'Secret Crush'", or, "this is the same bridge I saw in 'My Engineer'. π³ Things like that. π
As far as I know, WabiSabi or the production teams aren't involved closely on this series besides '12%', but I know that Mean and Title S. have worked on WabiSabi projects.
I'm still laughing that these guys all had New Year's dinner in the same spot where Seeiw watched 'The Love of Siam' with his sister. ποΈπͺπͺ Plus, they took down the pictures on the wall and replaced it with a copy of 'Abbey Road'. π
"Even though this whole saga has settled into a bromance with wigs"HA HA HA!That comment killed me :D
I just want to see Name and Champ have some sort of happy ending. π₯°
We already know that Gun & Golf are going to have a happy ending. . .they'll go to America for a few years, and they'll come back to Thailand putting cheese and BBQ sauce on all of their food. π€
I was going to ask you if you noticed anything odd location-wise when you were watching #13?
I had to replay the scenes to notice that they're using the same rooms that we saw in 'My Only 12%'. π
When they were having New Year's dinner, they were all sitting in the same corner that Seeiw used to sit on the green couch and watch TV. . .and that's the same 13" TV in the corner that was in '12%' in the same spot. πΊ
I thought that was it. . .and then they put the teaser up to show Champ going upstairs to talk to his Dad. . . . . .and it's the same 2nd floor room and stairway that Seeiw used to get on the computer after school and chat with Cake. π₯οΈπ¨οΈ
13 out of 14 episodes. . .we're almost there. . .π¬ I enjoyed this episode a lot more than I had expected. I also had lowered my expectations for all of this down to 'sub-novella status' to do it. π Had I still been pining away for romantic scenes and relationship triumphs over the last several episodes, however, I'd be less than pleased right now.
With one magical episode to go, I'm sure not expecting the fireworks show that has lingered ever since Em was still a cheerleader, but I bought the ticket to commit to the whole story. π 'Commit' is probably the right term to use, too. π€ͺ
After I'm done rolling my eyes at some of the things I've seen here along the way, I will go forth with the knowledge that Title A and First really came away from this series with a big step up in their acting talents to bring to their next projects. π₯° I'll be looking for 'Be Mine Superstar', 'Wish You Luck', and 'Buddy Line Y Animal' later on when that happens. π They both really stood out in this whole cast. ποΈπ
For this episode, though, I had mixed feelings, but some things moved forward, anyway. Baby steps to the 'Finish Line', I guess. . .π¨π½βπ¦―
In the details we had here (which, at :41 minutes, went by really fast), I liked that they all planned a New Year's dinner for the holiday, and to celebrate Name's birthday. π Title A's birthday actually is right after New Year's, on Thursday. . .π
Champ, who has overshadowed Name's suffering in the whole second half of this series, doesn't seem to be any happier than he was his first night in his apartment going to college, and now I know why. π It took me until now to realize that he's been living in Apartment 666. β οΈπβ οΈ He needs to change addresses if he's ever going to smile again. π
That scene with his sister was well-acted, though. . . He hadn't been home in 2 years, and the whole conversation with his sister had no hugs, and it was like a wall was separating them the whole time. ππ§±π If Episode #14 is :55 minutes long, that's all the time he's got to straighten out his destiny. π₯Ί
Which brings us to our most-anticipated couple, Name & Em, who had just over :03 minutes of screentime for the whole episode. π£ I gave up on the fairy-tale premise for this couple about four episodes ago, but the only glimmer of hope I saw was when Gun was teasing Name at the dinner (and asked, 'When are you going to fall in love?') and Em took Name's side and put his arm on his shoulder. π
Maybe that will be it, aside from holding a guitar and smiling at each other. ππ This relationship has moved about 46 feet forward ever since Episode #3 & #4 (and Em still needs to pay it forward for not getting off of that bus to give Name a hug). π€¨
Gun & Golf's relationship should have been one of the most anticipated scenes of the week, but I'm one of several here that thought the reconciliation was rushed, needed more time to bring us there, and make us forget that this doesn't happen much in the real world. In theirs, all was well in about :04 minutes. . .proposal, apology, and ring included. π Oh yes. . . .and also. . .let's go to America. . .π€ π€
The talk that Gun had with his Dad made the whole episode, mainly because his Dad had barely made eye contact with Gun in the last 10 episodes, since his backpack got signed. π Now, he's the 'World's Proudest Dad' and wants a hug. π Gun did even better in talking to his Dad than he had with his Mom ("I have something important to tell you". . . ."wait, hold that thought. . .I'll go make dinner. . ."). π£
Golf's parents, though, have been fun to watch in every appearance, and makes for great support for Golf. His parents are right up there in the Top 5 with the Pete's Dad in 'Dark Blue Kiss'.
I don't know what to expect for #14, but I'll be here to see what redeems itself in our investment of three months of Sundays. Even though this whole saga has settled into a bromance with wigs, I can still hold my head up high knowing that the relationships here have still flourished better than my whole experience finishing 'Bite Me'. π That alone will get me through next Sunday. π
Happy 2023 to you and all of your 73-degree January heat. π₯³ππ₯³During the 'Win-Team Break', I did the 'Theory…
Sorry. π Temporary amnesia. . . π
