All of the above, but third aunt Shunhua has a very special place in my heart, since she was the first woman to show Niao Niao love and respect, through words and actions. Yes, I agree with you, but SS can also be scheming and cunning when the situation calls for it and that is not a bad thing. It just shows that she is a complex character. After reading a lot of books, watching dramas (including novel adaptations), I have finally seen what it means to have the ultimate winning combination - great book, even better script, visionary director, superb acting by main and supporting roles and the entire talented team involved in producing this unforgettable drama. I love every second of it!
On a side note, as I am rewatching ep. 29, when SS showed the Empress her inventions, it is fortunate that no one thought to use her skills for weapon design or military defence-offence. That would have made her a great asset, but also vulnerable to being exploited by others. It was a random thought, since the role of women was severely limited at that time...
