I get that, I had the same problem at the start. I recommend watching the animated version (Mo Dao Zu shi) it has much faster pacing and really good fights and effects (except for a few moments it looks really incredible). You can try the first episode and see! The story is really so so good and the setting so interesting it would be a shame not to try it. A lot was also censored in this version, like the dead Wei Ying wakes up. Hope you'll give it a chance

For me it is BL, BL or danmei is about love between two man, not necessarily kissing or anything like that, just pure love that can be seen between them, and I can definitely see that here. I also think the team did such a good job that it doesn't feel platonic at all, you can tell they love each other romantically, even if they never say it

I recommend trying the animated version! As much as I love the story, the low budget of this was a bummer for me at the start. Try searching for Mo Dao Zu Shi and play a few episodes, I think you might really like it. If you do, you can try this show after finishing it. It's much easier to get into after

not bromance but love for love's sake is pretty good bl. You can also watch MDZS which is another adaptation of the Greatmaster of demonic cultivation, the story the Untamed tried to adapt as well. Or TGCF. They are amazing

The tone of this show is very dark, there's a lot of explicit violence and scenes and the ML is a bad person. For anyone who finds this good, go ahead and watch. It's not a show for me personally though

Just a disclaimer for anyone who wants to try it and liked Vigilante. This show is much darker, there are explicit scenes and the ML is not a good guy at all

Agreed, but it is worth pushing through. The korean BLs are still learning (and even many romance kdramas are cringey let's be real). This is such a good step in the right direction concerning the concept, production and storylines

Such a breath of fresh air for real! This drama is amazing, the softness between the leads feels very real and the game/transmigration concept is so cool to see in a BL, really feels like some tv adaptation of a danmei. The side characters were so good too! I want to see more of them so bad
