The reporter was miscasted (she has no charisma at all) BUT the main plot is so good, and I love the ML already. Vigilante stories are always really satisfying and I love the direction they're going with this so far. It's also really nice the police is not treated as totally useless which they often are in these kinds of dramas. Really interested in where it's going to go!

Hi, absolutely agree with you. If you like good story and plot with interwoven great relationship, I would really recommend the mdzs donghua, or the (less-budget) live action Untamed. Another great story-wise BL story is Heavenly Official's Blessing (a chinese fantasy setting with focus on devotion and loyalty, but with great plot as well). From the more modern ones I think a great life-action show is also Semantic error, if you've not watched it yet

Yeah I've read them all! The ending is a bit different in the novel so you won't get completely spoiled and some things are rushed because China - censorship, not enough run time given and etc. BUT the ending is super super satisfying and beautiful even so and honestly I'm stunned they got so much through the censors (the wangxian bit really picks up in season 3). Much better than the ending of untamed really. A SMALL SPOILER FOR ENDING IN CASE YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW: They only split ways in the Untamed. In the novel and donghua they stay together at the end!

Definitely recommend this, but the animated version is so beautiful as well and shorter, so you can first watch that to see if you like the story and characters (it's much more fast-paced) then come back to this longer version

Ah so glad you like it!! The animation makes the story so so epic. Not to mention how beautiful the character designs are. And the ending is so much better than here like 1000%
This will get lost in the comments but to anyone who loved this show! - watch the animated series too! It has stunning art and actions scenes and it's so well done, especially in respect to the main characters relationship. Also read the novels if you can, you won't regret it!

I was a bit scared of going into the last two episodes after seeing here that it's boring but that wasn't the case for me. It still flowed really well and the action scenes were great, plus of course the two main characters were so worth watching for (even if I cried my eyes out at episode 6)

The ending is happy for some but there is a lot of loss and hurt before that (the episode 6...is a lot). It's not all dark though and after it picks up a bit lighter again, all things considered. But yeah, prepare to cry
