Thanks. Yeah it may be that the 'love triangle' is a bit watered down in the drama. But still it doesn't seem wise that a senior officer would be dating his subordinate or trying to. And I guess at this stage, without book knowledge, Pei Su seems kind of creepy, awkward and anti-social, so I keep expecting him to be revealed as a serial killer or something. Hard to imagine there's any kind of romantic pairing in the offing. Or is it something closer to Hannibal in the long run?

Thanks for that explanation. I still don't quite understand their relationship and from what we've seen of Pei Su so far, I'm struggling to see him forming emotional attachments as he seems very detached. It's really hard to see how he and Luo actually become a couple. Is it a really slow burn and their personalities change along the way?

I haven't read the novel and I've only watched two episodes but can someone explain a couple of things. Why are the two main characters still in each others lives after a suicide 7 years ago, what relationship did they have in the past that keeps them intertwined over those years or is Pei Su just a constant nuisance because he can't accept the verdict? And secondly, why were two guys who appeared to be beat cops or less, the main investigators on a high profile suicide? Was it a low profile case that wasn't investigated because of the wealth and power of her husband?

I really don't know what AvenueX thinking sometime. She said this drama is not good? This drama is fantastic.…
It's confusing that she condemned the actors for using their own voices and then called it a BL adaption when the source material wasn't BL and the best they could do is make it shippable. But it seemed to be a problem for her that it wasn't a BL even though it was a bromance. I guess she was hoping it would be something she could use to maximise her channel and merchandise. Though, quite often she seems to have issues with young attractive men and does that thing so common in China that just writes people off as actors if they aren't old and unattractive.

Anybody knows where you can watch this movie and with subs?
No one can watch it anywhere yet since it hasn't been released yet. And since it is a movie who knows when someone will have a copy that can be subbed. But it has been scheduled to be released in Australia and New Zealand in mid October - and that should have subs.

I have to say Youku have been surprisingly responsive on this drama. I wrote to them a day or so ago asking why we couldn't see the bonus scene on the app with subtitles and just received a reply to say it's now available as SP2 - and it is.

Perhaps that sort of ending was a censorship compromise so people watching can decide themselves what his fate…
And it was all over the end of the drama in that ridiculous endless text about the fate of all the bad guys. Nothing but text about their sentences that looked like it was sent directly from the censorship office. Forget tying up any of the loose ends about the characters - just push the punishment. Because if it was part of the drama they probably would have had a montage so we were reminded of who each of the bad guys were or something more interesting that wasn't just endless repetitive text.

One thing that has amused me about this drama was all the talk about how understaffed they were and yet for any arrest, 6 cars pull up and and 30 police swarm into the building. How many do they need?

The last two episodes were full on bromance. Just two bros chilling under the moonlight. But wtf was the ending…
Perhaps that sort of ending was a censorship compromise so people watching can decide themselves what his fate should be. Those who think his involvement with the drug world has no redemption can go one way, and those more sympathetic can believe he got a fresh start. I'm sure there was a lot of scrutiny on what they could put to air.

I think people expected the lead characters to spend more time together and have more interaction so if you were watching for more of a brothers together bromance it's not really that sort of drama. I find it gripping and the search for hard evidence is so frustrating. Plus we must give thanks to whoever decided how Chen Yu would look out of uniform.

You're right. If you choose to watch something just to yell at the screen, that is your choice. I only wondered because you seem to have these expectations that this drama is something that it isn't and there must be other dramas that will give you what you've repeatedly said you're looking for.

wow you're still watching even though it sounds torturous. Can I ask why you're still watching since it's been very clear in every comment you've left how much you don't enjoy it. Perhaps wait till it's over and let someone tell you if there are any juicy bromance moments in the remaining episodes and where to find them.

I forgot... did they ever show how YuFeng became friends since childhood? I meant I don't remember any childhood…
I'm assuming there were a number of things that had to be changed during it's lengthy censorship review period, maybe some of it had to be deleted or maybe there's still quite a lot for us to find out.

Then all I can really say is 'this is not the bromance you are looking for'. And it is okay to walk away if it's not meeting your needs. I've done that on quite a few dramas.

I love male friendship, seriously, but I'm also able to watch a drama where two friends are estranged and have not yet resolved the tension that keeps them apart. Whether they truly reconcile may or may not happen. But not every male friendship is a bromance.

I guess it's not normally the kind of drama that I would watch which is an advantage of following actors you like and discovering new things. But I'm waiting till I know all the ins and outs to make any final determination on where it falls into real stupidity.

They are dragging the plot to it's demisereally I'm starting to lose interest in the whole thing
It hasn't dragged at all, I'm caught up in every episode and trying to follow all the twists and turns and the clever way things are only half revealed and then filled in more later. What I do wonder about is people who fast forward through dramas to only watch the scenes with their favourite actors. That's going to make this drama extra hard to follow.

It's not just the Bromance is very weak or seems odd now but How Chen Yu behaves isn't proper police investigation…
I'm a little confused about criticism of the lack of bromance when this isn't that sort of drama for bromance or romance. I know that's what many people like but then they seem to be watching the wrong drama if that's what they're looking for. I guess it doesn't make sense to me to be critical of something because it does exactly what it's meant to do and not what some viewers would prefer it to be.
