There is a stigma yes, given how Korea usually wins the suicide olympics but here are expections like Mad for Each Other 2021 and You Raise Me Up which heavily involve seeing therapists
Both were fun watch but sadly not exactly mainsteam or aired on major local channels

I love Gina Jin and this was a mess. She didnt seem like an adult working woman.
The plot is also too ridiculous given the age of the characters.
It felt like a high school drama.
The cast are pretty so that is usually enough for some

I personally did not notice the age gap as a male. She was much older than she seemed in the drama. So I don't think it should be an issue.

Most times they forget that it is supposed to be a romance and the leads barely interact.

I think people sometimes forget that dramas are first and foremost entertainment.
It is not supposed to be a magnum opus
I have seen comments complaining that a silly drama is too silly.
If it is silly by design, that cannot be a demerit.
This drama was fun and got me grinning from ear to ear.

Yes it was later. I started watching this and find nothing wrong with her acting.
I think its a matter of preference and also cultural.
Newer dramas are more westernized than older ones

It is worse than you think. The title and trailer are misleading.
You dont seem to have gotten there but she was inlove with the second male lead but was drugged/hypnotized to forget him and married to the male lead.
It is basically kidnapping and brainwashing that this drama is trying to portray as romance

I cant fault you since I only watch romance myself.
Doctor X is simply unique, its the only Japanese drama with a true female lead that I have seen in over a decade. There is no male character more competent than her. Its a nice break from dumb female leads

Asian is too blanket a word since not all countries have such bad dramas.
Chinese medical dramas can be bad as you pointed out.
Korean can be even worse with dramas like Good Doctor with a doctor punching someone with a mental disability or Medical Top Team that is just plain ridiculous.
But you can find a lot of good ones, especially from Japan
Try Doctor X, a Japanese drama series.
It is not the most serious series out there but I think it will satisfy you regarding medical knowledge.
It is also less bleak than your average medical drama so that is a plus
