Even If This Love Disappears Tonight

First - do not attempt to watch this movie if you do not have a box of tissue close at hand, or watch it if you have recently lost someone you love.

Second - expect tears.

This drama ripped open my heart because this was basically my story (less the car accident causing amnesia and the age bracket.

My husband passed away in the middle of the night just like the ML in this drama from a heart condition. I spent many years trying to neutralize the emotions and memories so I didn’t have to feel the pain of losing him so suddenly. I am also an artist, and gave up all forms of art after he passed away also, and am now starting my creative journey again. Strikingly similar, is it not?

I can understand why the 2FL best friend acquiesced to the ML’s request due the trauma it would cause the FL because she would feel the loss and the guilt for having forgotten him. Ut would be a terrible way to live the rest of her life. But as someone who has had those memories diminish over the last 20+ years, I wish I could go back and remember everything. That is sorrow no matter which side you look at it from.

Everything about this drama was beautifully done. There were no typical story lines, no conflicts, no misunderstandings, no combative or controlling parents. Just the two leads doing ordinary things and falling in love.

There were no special effects or dramatic scenes either. The music was sweet and soothing.

The director did an amazing job keeping this a slow burn and beautifully told story of first love and first loss. It was a truly beautiful depiction of real love without the dramatics.

The ending was completely unexpected, and bittersweet. And even though there were tears, for me at least, they were painfully beautiful and healing. A very good movie.
