Nowhere does it say that this is a rebirth; only those who have read the novel know.
I think sometimes people reference the novel because they try to explain the difference between the screen and the book. But, lose their intent in the explanation. I don’t think they reference the novel with the intent of confusion with the film version, but it sometimes comes across that way.
I often read the novel while I’m watching the drama because that helps to fill in gaps for me where my Mind questions what’s happening on screen, but I, myself, don’t always reference the novel unless it is a confusing scene and someone questions what is taking place.
Guys, make it a point to review & rate each episode; it helps increase the rating on MDL.
RATE IT, dint review untul you’ve seen the whole drama. That messes with the real numbers, and doing a review now before the drama is over will actually encourage people who come to deliberately damage the ratings of a view to post bad reviews ahead of time when they haven’t even watched a single episode.
am i the only one who doesn’t like the ml? no one in that drama deserves the fl tbh. the ml is very manipulative…
I dont see that at all. When did he manipulate her specifically? Are you referring to his court politics and cooperation with his teacher? That’s nothing new in any drama in this genre. He is cunning, a warrior of sorts, decisive, intentional and very much smitten with the FL where he makes up excuses to interact with her (which anyone I have ever met over my many years on this earth dies when they are interested. Like a peacock fluffing its tail feathers to get the female to notice him.Right now we only see a little of his interactions and not what he is really like as a man.
Plus, don't forget, she was outside in the rain for 10 minutes and IMMEDIATELY came down with acute pneumonia.…
Yes! The “I stuck my hand out in the rain and 5 minutes later I am sneezing and need to be rushed to the hospital for an IV drip and two weeks of recouperation” scenarios are just a little too much sonetines 😂
I watched Blossom right after The Pursuit of Jade (which I absolutely loved). I was completely drawn into this…
I agree, the story line was very very good. There wasn’t as much contrast in the scenery as POJ, but it was still very dream-like in its scenes between the leads. Tge red ribbon covering the ML’s eyes, the magnolia tree covers in red paper, every dream flashback between them, the light angles, the camera positioning as they looked at each other played on the mutual affection and intimate knowledge of each other. I enjoyed this drama very much.
I suppose everyone already knew that Li Yunrui sang the OST for this drama? I have only seen him in a couple of support or 2ML roles and had no idea he was also a singer. I could tell it was his voice immediately though.
Thank you for your review. I am currently on ep36 and was debating as to whether to stop watching - couldn’t handle a c-trauma right now. I am now ending my thank you for sharing and knowing I won’t spend time with a tissue box (at least not as much) once the last ep plays.
I actually think the mom portrayed here is one of the most realistic and reasonable moms in cdrama world. Yes,…
Having nearly died being a stubborn and curious child myself, I understand the mothers concern and fear for her child’s life because my mother went through absolutely the most awful fears as to whether I would live or die. But even in understanding her reactions - the transition from forced cooperation to agreeing was entirely too abrupt and completely out of the character that was constant until the airport scene. She overcompensated and brow beat everyone into doing what she wanted.

Yes, I understand that angle too. It’s probably personal experience on my end showing up in frustration as the FL. Being concerned for your child doesn’t mean you manipulate and guilt them into obeisance, and force them to acquiesce to your demands. I know the culture is different than mine, but the “concern” was over the top in my opinion.
The airport scene seemed rather abrupt in her change of mind. The Aunt tried talking to her, the FL tried talking to her, and I’m sure the school tried talking to her, and she forced everything and everyone to bend to her will.
I didn’t like the character at all. Even when she gave in, it felt insincere.
Nope. In my episode review I said the beautiful moment for me was mom heading for the plane. That the sis and…
No one was safe from her abuse - her sister, her sisters son, her daughter, Xiao Xu. She was what my mother would have called h*ll on wheels 😳 I was afraid that XioaCen would cave in and go with back home with her mother. Happy she didn’t!
