One thing I love about this show is that the mother didn't get a redemption arc. She gave her one last chance which she blew. You don't have to forgive someone, or keep someone in your life because they are family.

This show has me in a choke-hold. Wen Yi fan's trauma is madly relatable and it has brought back so many feelings personally.

Fiction and fantasy is made to enjoy a story that doesn't exist to begin with. You don't have to create a storyline to use your imagination. You use it in conjunction with the writers imagination to enjoy a world and story someone else created. It is totally fine that this isn't your cup of tea genre wise. That is your opinion which you are entitled to. I for one am extremely excited for this show as the novel is amazing :D
