It shatters xianxia tropes with a paranoid, genius lead who chooses absolute caution over fighting.
I loved this drama for replacing tiring romance angst with brilliant, laugh-out-loud strategy. Watching the main character hide his immense power and treat survival like high-stakes chess is incredibly addictive and fun. The comedic timing is perfect, the cast is exceptional, and the pacing never drags. It is an instant favorite that I will definitely rewatch, if am done.
