I dropped it after a few episodes... the female lead is supposed to be a genius doctor but behaves like a spoiled child and shows no signs of being a genius rather the complete opposite... also the comments about the ending helped me not waste my time on this any longer.
My friend had the same thoughts while watching the show. She especially hated that grown Solo can’t warm his…
Just like you said that a Mother warming Milk for her child makes it taste better makes it so much clearer that what Solo needs isn't a boyfriend but a Mother... Gui is this for him: his Mother, his Nanny and his Secretary in the end. A Caretaker... I personally would feel very frustrated if a grown ass man would come to me and beg me for warm Milk or go grocery shopping with him with an argument of "I can't do it on my own *teary eyes*". I would run away screaming. Gui is supposed to be his boyfriend, but where is the giving back, the equalness? This is what many of us grown folks think of it. Not how cute or romantic the dependency is they have of each other (Solo being unable to do anything/care and cook for himself, and Gui emotionally and financially later on)
This is awesome! If you want lighthearted and cute you are at the right place! I loved it, I cried and I laughed and felt my heart melting. The only thing I find sad is that it was so short! I hope we can see more korean bls like this (that are a bit longer)
I never said this is a bad show, it has the potential to be really cute. And I haven't even given it any kind…
Thanks for giving me insight into your viewpoint! And I have to agree the series itself without the book and with the episodes that aired till now, there isn't much to call problematic (really only khims stalking behaviour at the beginning, but that is being worked on right now I guess) I hope you can enjoy the rest of the story! As for me, even I haven't given up hope for it yet, maybe they will give the series a good twist or show more of Guis and Solos intentions and make it more clear what is going on.
Sometimes I feel frustrated when I read some of your reactions to what are not bad shows at all, Oxygen being…
I never said this is a bad show, it has the potential to be really cute. And I haven't even given it any kind of rating yet, just to be clear. But I have a problem with the dependency this situation with Solo and his father puts Gui in. As someone who saw first handed what it means to leave behind your dreams and "run away" with the person you love and end up in this kind of dependency, I can't support romanticising it. And it doesn't matter if this is "just fanatsy", cause fantasy can become real life real quick. Also a comment is not a bad review and I never hated on the show, I just feel very uncomfortable with how Gui is treated. He doesn't know any better, cause he always had to take care of other people, but that is no excuse to run him over and take away his independency. It's one thing if Solo and Gui had talked about it and decided that this is the way they want to go, but Gui was almost threatened and made to choose to become Solos Secretary by Solos Father. And you said it yourself: Solo is the one with the money! What will happen if Solo one day isn't satisfied with Gui anymore? What if he dies suddenly? What if Solos company goes bankrupt? As Guis sole reason to exist and employer, what should he do then? Who will provide for him then? How will he be able to fend for himself? Would you also be here and be angry at people that don't find this situation romantic if Solo was poor? Also what kind of message is this sending to the younger audience of this show? That the "wifes" place is beneath the husband and taking care of his every whim either as his secretary or at home? That they are not worth being given a manager position even though they have the education to do it? That they should not strife to be a better person for themselves but for someone else that can be gone in a second? What Solo needs are loving parents that are there for him, not Secretary Gui.
Don't judge the book by its cover. Read the novel and evaluate everything "yourself", "Hearing from someone who…
We talked neutrally about the book, I trust this person and they didn't tell me to judge them or their own opinion but just what's going to happen. And I made this judgement by myself.
Am I the only one that sees red flags turning up once he started to call him Guitar after his most priced possession? As if Gui was a thing... wtf! Also, I heard from someone who read the novel that Gui gives up his dream of being an engineer and becomes Solos Secretary and does all the stereotypically "wifey" things at home, while Solo is chilling on the couch or playing in the pool. This is so wrong on so many levels, I can't understand how people call that sweet and fluffy... (not even mentioning how a music major gets a management position in his daddys company and his boyfriend, who changed his career path and studied management especially for him, becomes the Secretary...)
As someone who’s in a long distance relationship for 7 months now, all I can say is I relate to what Tine was…
But that's my problem, they said they are in a ldr but they weren't, they were apart for 2 weeks. I understand that Tine would miss him and I understand that he was sad but as someone who lived far away from the people I loved myself for a long period of time it feels like he was overreacting. Like they wanted to showcase that Win can act in emotional scenes, cry at the push of a button and advertise this talent, since their chemistry at that moment was still very low it looked unrealistic. I would have understood it if it was Man or Type that had a breakdown like that. And I also understand that you gelt sad when your significant other is apart from you but you said yourself it's been 7 months and I guess you knew from the beginning that he or she would be gone for a long time. But Tine and Wat are apart for 2 weeks and they knew they can be together again after that passed.
The plot of this series was ridiculous! The whole base of all the drama was Dims "hurt" dignity and manliness (more like toxic masculinity???)All the drama between Cheerleaders and Music club could have been avoided if Dim would have just stopped being a dick! All I wanted was for him to get a job and just vanish! I really liked Guy in Sotus S but here they did him dirty! Then we had Tine nearly dieing of sorrow because Wat left for 2 weeks? Maybe it's just me, but I found that totally unrealistic. It was like his life depended on being near Wat and isn't that a little too dependent? And they called that a long distance relationship? What should Man and Type call their relationship then? Also Type had to spent one precious night he could have spent with his partner who he misses real bad because they really have a ldr to comfort Tine because he was so sad he couldn't see wat for a few days... shouldn't it be the other way around? Then Dim again, taking their phones away the whole time? I can understand he wanted to concentrate on practicing but if someone took my phone away I would have demanded it back after practice was over to make a short phone call to my bf. Dim really was so into his hurt masculinity that he harmed everyone around him too. He is my most hated character in 2020. Now on to the good thingsThe reunion of SarawaTine in Episode 4 was really cute! They finally had some of their first chemistry back. If we could have had more if these cute scenes in the last 3 episodes of the drama everyone wouldn't have hated on the series like they did. Also the development of Mil and Kong was good. They didn't rush into it and they were so cute in the last 2 episodes. The only thing that was not that great was the whole be like Tine to make Mil want Kong, but it ended well.ManType are such a great thing, they were really mature and their relationship was the best. I hope we see more of them.Boss and Pear were a oblivious but still cute couple! At the end I stayed for the side couples who were the saving grace of the main series and also this special. I'm happy we got a good ending this time around and no high 5s, I can finally find closure with this series.
It was full of fluffyness and cuteness! If you're looking for a short and sweet drama to warm your heart: watch it. If you want a thought through plot and suspense: go watch something else. I really liked the chemistry between the leads! They were so cute. This show proves that you don't need skinship and many kisses to show believable intimacy and chemistry between two lovers.
Same, I was also looking forward for a new JCW drama. But after I read the discription and watched the trailer of the drama I was not really interestet in it... it is still on my plan to watch list, but I don't see myself watching it anytime soon...
